Rough Tor Car Park
Absolutely stunning walk up to the top of rough tor. Plenty of parking, wild ponies, sheep, cows, birds and a view to die for looking west to brown Willy.

The first day of summer and what a cracking start it is around here shorts on and getting my push bike ready for a good day out started off at Davidow and went to Rough Tor only about five miles.A few steep hills to pedal up/walk up and into the small unkept car park you be alright in a small van but it is a bit rough with potholes and even some of the cars were grounding out.Anyway, it was well worth the effort getting there the walk up to the top was an easy hike although, after all the rain and snow we have had it was quite wet and boggy the views across the moors were great and the rock formation and the rock stacks were amazing.when coming back down to the carpark by the stream if you look over to the left there is a monument to a girl that was murdered at the spot where it stands this happened on April 14th, 1844 the story goes that she was friends with two boys and the one that they hung for the crime might of been the innocent one.Below are a few photos of the top of Rough Tor, along with a photo of the monument and a copy of the inscription on the monument. This monument is erected by Public subscription in Memory of Charlotte Dymond who was Murdered hereby Matthew Weekes on Sunday

Just a small car park. No facilities. Easy accessible from / to local small town. Access to open Moorland to Rough Tor, Brown Willy and beyond!

Didn't get in it was so busy, and not sure I would have wanted to either there are enormous potholes so big that ppl going in were grounding their sumps unless they had 4X4's. Ended up parking I what was probably a passing place further back down the road. The only redeeming feature is it's closeness to Rough Tor and the enchantingly named Brown Willy (Cornwalls Highest Hill), almost a hands in pockets stroll.

It's a car park at the base of Roughtor ? Easy to get to.Lovely setting, only a short walk to the trail that leads up the Tor, which is about a 1mile hike.

Free parking for plenty of cards that gives you easy access to the path up to Rough Tor. The walk from the car park to summit is really straightforward and does not take too long at all. Once there, you can wander further for another 20-30 mins to the summit of Brown Willy - stand on top of here and you will be the highest person in Cornwall - standing at an elevation of 420 meters (1,378 feet) it is the highest point in the entire county! The walk from car park to Brown Willy is about 7.5km and can be done in 2.5hrs and never feels arduous.

No toilets, bit of a large bump as you go into the car park but great view, easy access to roughtor. Be warned, there are sheep, cows and horses in the field walking up to the tor. ALL dogs should be on leads.Today we witnessed 1 not on a lead chasing the sheep, scaring the owners, but more importantly endangering the livestock. People need to obey the rules and stop endangering stock

Great access to moors. Would-be so helpful to have dog poo bins here. A fairview bags left scattered around the car park
