Fabulous place for a days visit, get there early if you need a parking space, lovely clean free toilet block , cafe ,restaurant , beautiful scenery.

Coniston boating Centre is great and has a variety of different launches to go on. It has a café and you can buy duck feed for 70p (they do take cards). We went on the steam gondola.

I love Coniston. Quiet and peaceful. Take a boat trip or even better, visit John Ruskin's beautiful house, Brantwood.

We were given vests, paddles and an instructor" pointed where we can "choose any of those boats".None of us 4 have ever been on a kayak before

Rented a rowing boat to go out on the lake. If youve handled a boat before this is a lovely place just to sit in the middle (avoiding ferrys) and chill out. £20 well spent..

Very busy place, with easy access to the Lake. Boat hire of all kinds. Pleasure boat trips, and room for a picnic and paddle. Car park gets full quickly on a nice day

I am absolutely delighted with this place. Not too crowded, very friendly and helpful staff. We didn't book anything, just hired kayaks and an electric boat on the spot. Road is quite difficult to get there though, very narrow.but absolutely worth it.

What better way to enjoy the English summmer than to hire a boat and enjoy Coniston. We hired a kayak and made regular stops to go for a swim from the shore. A two hire of kayaks is plenty in less your experienced. We booked in advance, went for an early hire to avoid the hottest part of the day. This had the added bonus that the car park was quiet (£8 for the day).

Ideal place to hire a kayak on Coniston. Very straightforward payment and check in - we were on the water within a couple of minutes of our arrival, despite it being busy.A word of warning - the car park fills up quickly, so arrive early if you want the best chance of parking right next to the beach.
