Stayed in the family room (upgraded as picture of double room looked small) was shocked to hear the prices had been raised in September. Even though I had booked in September, I still paid a big difference.The price that's being charged is quite high seeing how you need a car to be able to travel to spots.Nice to see the bathroom had been painted and the condensation marks were gone.Didn't have a meal here as last time was just ok.

This pub has been closed for a few weeks as previous owners left, we saw it was open and called in. So friendly. Due to just being open again limited menu for now but we all had delicious meals. Pool table inside and dogs welcome my son was so happy to see a pool table, we will definitely be going back. Highly recomend

Popped in for a couple of drinks and game of pool. Very warm and cosy. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely be calling back for food as it looked and smelt great.

I was so looking forward to the Sunday lunch and on arrival the place was cosy and inviting. However, that's the only good bit of the review! We were shown to our table and the server said they didn't have menu's and proceeded to read the menu from a scrap of paper. She rushed us into deciding what to have and when asked what was the children's menu she said a smaller portion of the adults size". The meal came and the food was cold

Absolutely awful Sunday dinner here today. Portions were way too small and lukewarm. The mash potato wasn’t edible at all it was like milky slop with lots of lumps in including some potato peel. Very difficult to cut through the stuffing balls and Yorkshire. Meat was very chewy and only one half full gravy boat given between 4 dinners. Such a shame as we had a beautiful dinner here with previous owners early this year. Will definitely not be coming back especially not for 12.50 a meal.

Cheap and cheerful. New owner needs a lesson in hospitality. Seemed a bit rude and dizzy not sure if she knows what she's doing. Dark haired lady cooking food was really nice. Good choice on the menu. Whether they have any in stock is another thing.

Booked to stay here one evening as friends were having a party nearby and this place was reasonably cheap. Rooms were clean, tidy, spacious and warm. Free tea and coffee facilities were a suprise at this price point. Host was lovely and got up early to cook us breakfast in the pub downstairs. Will definitely be returning in the summer to explore to nearby area.

My son and I had the lasagne tonight and they were both stone cold in the middle. Was told the temperature of the food was tested before being served but was still stone cold when it arrived. This was the second time we had visited first time the card machine was playing up food was OK and had to ask for a clean spoon to eat my dessert. They did deduct it from the bill and offered me something else to eat but I was put off eating another main course.

Wonderful home cooked food by the brilliant Lotte - we came here twice over the weekend. Any negative reviews on this are clearly from folk who lack soul and do not enjoy home style cooking
