Every time I have been to Piccadilly it's always busy. Staff are always friendly and helpful when trying to catch your train. Plenty of places to eat in the station or pick up on your travels. Plus catching the metro downstairs is so easy to a number of places around Manchester. Make sure you get your ticket prior to boarding.

I like this station as it is compact and it is easy to find everything. Platforms nice and close together as it is a terminus station Good eateries and shops. Two pianos and I had fun playing those. I love the departure board with all destinations in alphabetical order. I wish they had one of those at Birmingham New Street. My visit to the ticket office was not as pleasant. A member of staff was rather curt and abrupt.

I had a rough day and was stranded on manchester during the train strikes due to a problem with the hospital. The station manager, heather, helped me (a wheelchair guest) get home safely. Cannot praise her enough for her support and the kindness of the other staff who helped me that day. You made my day better. Thank you!

The barrier system is horrible and manned by jobsworths and vest wearers who seem to think that stitching you up for fare evasion is top of their list even though you tell them that no guard on the train was encountered. A regular occurance these days. Steadily but surely the whole scene is becoming a prison manned by robots holding phones with no compassion or common sense but enjoying the power that wearing a sad vest brings to these drones..

If you want to feel like cattle being herded then come to Piccadilly.Train running late, well wait another ten minutes while we check your tickets before you can leave.Like being cold and wet in winter? Catch a train from platform 13.

Visited 25/01/2023 early morning around 5am luckily the Greggs on the station approach outside was open as not much was open inside apart from WH Smith’s. Not a frequent train traveller so wasn’t aware train platforms are not shown until around 15 minutes before departure. Station was clean and well lit, no need for any interaction with staff. Once on the train found seat assigned and then connected to the temperamental / patchy on board WiFi which seems to only really work when train is either travelling slowly or at a station. Train was generally clean, so overall a good experience⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This station was my first impression of Manchester and it looked very nice and very organised and well signed for the tourist (like me). Unfortunately after leaving the station things started to go down hill. Obviously Manchester is suffering with a massive homeless problem and I had never seen so many people drinking (and smoking) on the street. I was also twice openly confronted with people trying to sell me (obviously stolen) perfumes in the city centre.

I walked around all station including The Food Terrace and I could not find a SINGLE bin for rubbish. Finally asked polite guy in M&S for letting me us their bin over the counter when I was paying for a bottle of water. Plenty of rubbish left everywhere. Definitely not agree that the place is well organised. Also toilet was too smelly

I had to spend almost 2 hours at this station due to missing my connection and the next train being cancelled. I'd booked assistance and was met off the train by Ben. He took me to the Assisted Travel Lounge area where the next hour and a half flew by. Marilyn, another Passenger Assistant, made me a lovely cup of coffee and kept checking that I was okay. This new Assisted Travel Lounge is fantastic, it was like being in the lobby of a five star hotel. I am so grateful for this experience, I ended up not caring at all that I would be two hours late to my final destination.
