The Riding House
Really disappointing visit. Such an odd National Trust café. I have been to a number of National Trust properties over the years and often have lunch in their tea rooms / cafes. At all I have visited, the cakes are on display and it's clear what you are getting. Not the case here.Visited with a group of friends and the service was terrible. Awfully slow - we all ordered at the same time but one of our party was waiting 20 minutes longer than the rest and had to chase multiple times.On a side note, avoid the cream tea deal - it is not worth the money. Two miniature scones where you can get one normal size scone and add on jam, cream and a tea for less.

I had the 'classic ploughman's' but I'm not sure what was classic about it. Good quality produce but very small portion. Bad value for over £9.My wife had the quiche - again, very small portion.They are described as lite bites but these are more lite than bite!

Well-kept cafe with a variety of food and drink options. Super friendly staff, who handled a very busy crowd with grace.
