St Edburga Church
Ancient church of St Edburga in centre of the small village of Leigh, open for services. Large graveyard, unkept in the past so many graves overgrown with trees & ivy or buried beneath (now) well mown grass. Inside some nice stonework, stained glass and burial effergies, definitely worth a visit.

St Edburga Church
A beautiful Grade I listed church right next to a medieval wooden barn (Leigh Court Barn is under the care of English Heritage and makes visiting Leigh even more of a joy). St. Edburga's church appears to be regularly open to visitors during daylight hours, an impressive lofty church consisting of nave, chancel and south aisle, a modestly sized churchyard home to a medieval cross (at least, the base of the cross - the cross itself appears a little more recent), with the only drawback being a lack of obvious parking. Well worth a visit, I would thoroughly recommend - with particular highlights being the sturdy Norman-looking font and stone Christ-figure, formerly on an exterior wall and now mounted between two windows in the side-room/vestry/storage area.
