Richard made some floating shelves for a corner of my room. Simple process, I sent measurements and he asked a couple of questions and requested a photo, gave advice about what would work best. Shelves installed in one day and room left clean. Good value for money, I had found it difficult to get a company to take on what they considered a small job. Would recommend

We approached Milkwood Furniture about putting up and finishing floating shelves in our flat and are extremely pleased with the result.After our initial email John responded to us promptly and clearly explained the various options to us. He was much more helpful and communicative than the other companies and tradespeople we had spoken to beforehand - which my partner and I were really grateful for as we are both complete novices in terms of commissioning work like this. Following an initial visit so John could see the space where the shelves would go up, we were given a detailed quote at a reasonable price.While carrying out the work with a colleague, John was impeccably polite and friendly, and patiently answered our questions about the process. Both myself and my partner are currently working from home due to the coronavirus pandemic, and John was mindful of this throughout and didn't disturb us or intrude on the spaces we were using for work.His work was carried out swiftly and efficiently, and we are both thrilled with the shelves which are both sturdy and beautiful. I would recommend John and Milkwood Furniture to anyone looking to have work done in their home, and won't hesitate to get in touch again if we need further work doing.

Special thanks to John from Milkwood Furniture for building a very beautiful white vanity unit with marble top and installing glass shelves and shower curtain rails in our bathroom. Storage was a big problem when we moved in to our new built flat. We knew we had to invest on some bespoke furniture to maximise space. John worked with us with an open mind and nothing was impossible for him to do (he even changed the taps for our vanity unit). We had a pair of inbuilt cabinets with bookshelves made by Richard, John and Ross at Milkwood, and couldn't be more impressed with the service. Richard came to discuss materials with us before the work started, and custom-stained the wood we chose so that it perfectly matched the floor. We had a rigid budget, and he ensured that we got exactly the effect we were looking for without exceeding it. John and Ross installed the cabinets in a day and a half with the absolute minimum of inconvenience and no mess left behind - all in all, we can't recommend Milkwood Furniture highly enough.

We are extremely satisfied with the bookshelves Milkwood prepared and installed in our flat. The shelves are beautiful, high quality oak and finished to a lovely standard. The customer service was excellent throughout- Richard was professional, knowledgeable and very helpful in preparing a quote and John was likewise friendly and professional when installing. Following extensive research I contacted Milkwood regarding some custom shelving. I had quite a specific idea in mind for the shelves. I ended up speaking with John. He was very clear and professional throughout the consultation process and provided a 3D CAD model for me to get a sense of how the shelves would look in situ.John is a very skilled craftsman who produces beautiful, hand-made work. Having made the shelves in his workshop, he arrived and installed them in just a single day, with very little inconvenience caused. He left the site meticulous once the work was over.I am highly impressed by the shelves he made. They have since been the subject of many compliments, and I am actually reluctant to populate them with books since the design and wood quality look so good even when they are empty.I am looking forward to using Milkwood's services again soon.`

Designed built and installed some beautiful floating shelves and alcove cabinets for us. We had the shelves done first and the cabinets followed about a year later, both built off site and installed in under a day each time. They're beautifully made and we're absolutely thrilled with the result. Would 100% recommend and use again.

John designed and built a stand-sit desk for me, made to fit into a corner area of my office. It was a first for him this type of desk. His workmanship is second to none. He researched to find an elegant, solid and quiet set of hydraulics legs, and for a lighter weight desk top he recommend a high-end laminate which matches the tiles I chose. The desk was deliver on time. I give John my highest recommendation as a furniture maker. For me this desk is a work of art.

We contacted John at Milkwood Furniture as we needed a custom built wardrobe to act as a sort of attic in our new flat.The design process was smooth, we discussed our storage needs and wishes for design, and after a preliminary visit from John to take measurements and understand the space we left it in his hands.
