Sandy Acres Surf School

I’ve been surfing with the Sandy Acres ladies club for more than a year now and it’s always great fun! Sean and Lily have helped my surfing progress massively - I’ve worked through bad surfing habits and niggles, my confidence has grown, and my surf ability has improved. And Sandy Acres is THE most beautiful place to surf!

I’ve joined a few of the ladies surf clubs and have had a fantastic experience, everyone is super friendly and I feel I have finally stared to progress with my surfing thanks to the knowledgeable instructors, Sean & Lily. It’s a great way to meet people and build on your confidence in the water. Also the beach is literally paradise!

My children have had surfing lessons with Sandy Acres for the last couple of years. The teachers are amazing at encouraging them. They make the lessons fun and even managed to get my slightly reluctant youngest son to absolutely love surfing by the end of his lessons this year. The beach is so beautiful and a perfect place to watch them having the best time in the waves. We will definitely be back for more!

I love coming to the ladies club. Such a supportive group and always excellent tuition. Really reasonably priced too, highly recommend!

Sandy Acres Surf School is found nestled in the dunes at Sandy Acres near Hayle. Easy to park and free parking with lesson which was lovely surprise. Very family friendly.There were 3 of us for a lesson, 2 adults and 1 teenager. 2 were total beginners. Booking was super easy and boards, suits and boots were included in the lesson price. Kit was excellent and well looked after.The instructor took the time to talk everyone through what to expect when we got to the beach, ran through a war up and safety instructions. He also coached them constantly whilst in the water. My 2 friends were quite nervous at the beginning but were quickly put at ease and thoroughly enjoyed the lesson. We can't wait to come back and have another one!And best of all, after all that fun and exertion, you can treat yourself to a snack at the cafe opposite and enjoy the amazing views of Gwithian, St Ives and Godrevy.Thank guys! It was one of the best experiences! A very kind lady with a very good approach to children. And of course, in 2 hours she learned the basics. My girls wanted to swam every day :)

Lovely people at Sandy Acres gave my two kids a great surf school experience as well as a good price on board hire. Great location and a lovely cafe at the site too.

I had a really good experience with Sandy Acres Surf School. As a complete beginner, I wasn't sure what to expect but Nico put me at ease immediately, showed me the basics and we got straight into the water. I got better over the next hour or so but didn't quite manage to stand up on my own - next time for sure! The equipment was high quality and included in the cost of the lesson, which was great. Seeing myself in a wetsuit has also sparked a fresh approach to my diet - a useful knock-on effect of the day! Great experience overall, would highly recommend. Parking is free with the lesson too - bonus!
