Wanted to eat out here on holiday but they shut down the restaurant with 24hr notice and kicked the owner out so had to rearrange my plans completely. Unbelievable contempt for small businesses, especially in the current financial climate. Disgusting to think this is how a successful business gets treated so feel worried for those actually struggling.

Don’t bother going here. What once was an incredible restaurant has now be replaced. So saddened and appalled with whats happened and by the awful place that’s taken over Offbeet. Wouldn’t even give you 1 star. You should be so ashamed of your selfish actions. Offbeet was a truly remarkable and unique restaurant, it will be missed greatly.

The way they forced out a lovely vegan restaurant was absolutely appalling and now they have the nerve to be walking around in their aprons and using all of their stuff -and meanwhile this lovely vegan restaurant called Offbeet had to lay off 12 staff overnight!Do yourself a favor and don't go here and instead support a lovely independent vegan restaurant which now has opened brand new doors in Albert Road Southsea

Booked room 12 which was not in the main building. There are some rooms next to the road which is not specified when you book. Unfortunately you can hear the cars passing by and it is loud; the bathroom water and toilet was also really loud for some reason. We did really enjoy the coffee in the mornings and the service was great. I would recommend you make sure to book one of the rooms in the main building facing the garden to avoid noise from road. It is really nice that is pet friendly and that you don’t pay extra for the dogs.

Horrible experience. Where to start? Myself and my partner had booked a retreat for some time to relax and reflect. Arrived to an empty shell of a building. No reception and nobody to contact. Nothing welcoming about the place. Old and uncomfortable rooms. On site restaurant has apparently closed under strange circumstances. Definitely won’t be back and wish I had read the reviews prior to booking. Expensive mistake.

I had a beautiful stay at the Retreat New Forest with my border terrier Luigi. Firstly the self-check-in was made things really easy. We went straight to the room to drop our bags and then headed to the hotels many acres of land for a walk. All of the staff I encountered were lovely and really dog-friendly and the hotel is in the perfect location. There was a communal fridge for Luigi's dog food and water bowls and poo bins dotted around the property. The building is super homely and in was great to have walks from the doorstep. The Colin Nash restaurant was really tranquil - the food was so good and once again the staff were lovely. They gave a treat to my dog so he didn't feel too left out as I ate my delicious venison steak. They had 4 classes/workshops on while I was there but unfortunately I didn't have time to join. I would definitely come back here -highly recommended!

It’s a bit of a reach to call this place a retreat it’s honestly closer to a motel. It is located next to a busy A road between Bournemouth and Southampton and the windows are single glazed which means you can hear lorries and cars speeding past at 60mph all through the night. Seriously, ALL through the night. There is no reception staff and you are given a code to enter your room. If you require any kind of assistance you can call an office and they might answer. The rooms are quite dated and the whole place looks pretty tired. I wouldn’t be so critical if it was great value but it was over £80 for the night I didn’t think it was good value at all and I definitely wouldn’t stay there again.

Visited the restaurant at the retreat for breakfast and confidently award it five stars. Lovely relaxed atmosphere wity friendly, welcoming staff. Three of us all had different choices and each one prepared and served up beautifully and all utterly delicious. Highly recommended and can’t wait to return
