Taste of China

Ordered online and after 2 hours of waiting and calling the restaurant twice, they have cancelled my order. I could hear them being annoyed with the fact that I was questioning where is the food. Staff lied on the phone twice. Second time I called they said is on the way. How can it be on the way and then straight away cancelled. Awful services, just awful and rude, just cause I questioned. I would like to think that I was within my rights after more than 2 hours of waiting. Never again

I have ordered food from this restaurant many times and never disappointed. Always get desant portion sizes for good amount for money. It doesn't feel overpriced looking at the size and quality. Highly recommend.

What a complete shambles! I would have given zero stars but Google does not allow you to do so, Taste of China are clearly not interested in reading their reviews either as I’ve seen at least two other reviews commenting on a similar experience to mine. I ordered online earlier (16/12) at 6:30pm. The system asks you to request a time for delivery so I picked 19:40 thinking just over an hr should be fine. At 18:35 I received an email advising “Your taste of China order will be with you soon” and at 19:41 I received a text message stating “not long now, your taste of china order is on its way”. Anyways, I called at 20:05 to check on progress as it was coming up 30mins since the text message and expected to hear they were nearby or had just left. Nope, I was told rather unconvincingly that my order would be another 25mins plus. I asked the staff member if he was joking and he said no they were really busy. I responded it would have been helpful to have known there was going to be a delay and he apologised and said they would get the order out as soon as possible. Needless to say I was so annoyed that I cancelled the order. I would not recommend ordering online from Taste of China and it has definitely put me of visiting the restaurant. Message to owner: do better and read your reviews!

Never received our takeaway unfortunately (via deliveroo). After waiting for 1h40 we called to check on it and they weren't able to give us any idea how much longer it would be. The original time estimate was 35 mins.Deliveroo refunded.

Google made us leave one star…. We would love to give a rating having eaten in several times but for delivery they are a sham. Eagerly awaited 1 he 45 mins for dinner tonight and rang when 40 mins late. Told they had cancelled our order as very busy. We understand if busy but it would have been nice if they had used our details to contact us so we could make other arrangements. Or even better not taken our order and said they were unable to fulfil it. Very poor in a modern age of easy. No food and a poor taste left in our mouths…

An hour and a half after delivery ordering the order was cancelled. It wasn't as if an apology was forthcoming they just couldn't care less.The food is good but reliability and service is equally important.

Whilst the food is very good unfortunately the service is abysmal.Placed an order on line in the morning requesting a 7pm delivery, this was accepted and confirmed. Unfortunately, the food arrive 50 minutes late because we are busy".Why they cannot prioritise accordingly is beyond me. Won't be taking the chance of using them again."

Food was tasteless, no flavour, over cooked, salt n pepper chicken was rock hard, ribs had a very ‘slimy’ sauceSafe to say I will not be returning, very disappointed

Chicken fried rice was ok but wasn’t impressed with the sweet and sour chicken balls. Not somewhere I would try again.

Sadly I will not be ordering from here again. We ordered pork Hong Kong style sweet and sour and got a call to say they had run out so they were sending chicken instead. At this point we were acceptant of this, however, the chiceken Hong Kong was inedible. So dry and chewy it must have been cooked several times. The rest of the takeaway was bland and didn’t seem fresh. Very disappointed for a £60 takeaway. Unacceptable.
