Came a couple weeks ago 4th visit lovely guys who run it the food again the best I have had the poppadoms and dips are the best I’ve had and the spice in the currys are amazing nothing to much trouble and great prices defo would recommend to try

Excellent food. This place looks tacky on the outside , and is quite small inside, so i didn't have high hopes. Decor is clean and modern. Waiter was attentive but not over the top. But more than that the food was EXCELLENT. No over the top food colouring. You can hear them cooking it from fresh. My chicken toak was really well cooked and tasty. Nan bread was fresh. And sundries lovely. I am definitely going back when next in the area.The wine was average price and a good wine. Highly recommend this place.

We love this Indian. Looks unsuspecting sat back off the road, but it's cosy and the quietest of them all, the food is very tasty and well made. The poppadoms have a great 4 x condiment mix. It's one of the best around Colchester on a par with the Spice in Elmswell and we also liked Stanway Villa. The only gripe, which is so common in many Indians is that the coke seems to be served out of a supermarket own brand 3 litre bottle as it was a bit flat and not as tasty as which is a shame and they don't sell chai tea. Best option is to serve it out of an individual glass bottle and the very top Indian restaurants do that but we have been going here for 15 years and food is consistently top quality.

This is the best Indian restaurant in Colchester by miles! Everything is freshly prepared and cooked to order. No big tubs of smooth sweet sauces here! All the spices and ingredients are evident, and all the dishes taste of the correct spicing and have individual flavours appropriate to the dish. Dishes are plentiful and generous. All the food is served hot and requests for alterations to the dish can be accommodated. There are unusual dishes that are wonderful.We love this restaurant and appreciate the parking outside too.Decor is modern and it's always clean and tidy.The management try very hard to get everything right! Prices are very reasonable too.No point in trying anywhere else locally. Won't be a patch on The Way to the Raj! Do try it, you won't be disappointed! Always consistent with the food and service too.This is a real Indian restaurant! Not run by other nationalities as is often the case! I can tell!!!

Very very disappointed. Usually great food and service, but this time the order was all wrong and the food was cold on collection. I called and was told that there was nothing they could do and to contact the website owner whose fault it was! Really disappointed and also out of pocket. Won't bother again!

Superb cuisine. Lovely welcome, peaceful seating and gentle background music. Great selection of wines and bubbly. Incredible menu. Really enjoyed the bajis starter with mint dressing. Peswari main and freshly made naan. Hot towelettes post meal to freshen up.

Went here on the off chance as I always drive past and have been to so many Indians around the area!!All I can say is I wish I would have come here sooner, the food is lovely and definitely freshly cooked!! You have to wait a little for your food but you don’t mind.Definitely worth a visit, we came here 2 nights in a row and will now always use this place!!A true hidden gem
