Barber Shop
I've been visiting The Barber Shop since my University days in the mid 80s. John the barber always gives a great cut using scissors and a razor. There is a friendly atmosphere in the shop and John chats to all his customers some of whom have been visiting longer than I. If you are looking for a reasonably priced traditional haircut in Reading you can't beat The Barber Shop.

John is a lovely barber just as all the other reviews portray! He's very experienced & he's wonderful and great to talk to. Since covid, he takes phone bookings as well as wapk ins as well. He's been running the barber shop for almost 54 years! I will definitely be back when in Reading!

Unfortunately they gave my son a bad haircut, his hair was cut unevenly. I do not feel that they are experienced with Afro hair and since his bad experience, friends with same hair type have reported the same.

I am not against the the guy John he is friendly.But the guy is old and he will ruin your hair.Counsil should pay attention towards license renewalGot a terrible haircut.it's better go towards the town and spend some more and get a nice haircut.

Really appreciate every time I visit. A friendly chat with a neat hair cut. Time slows here and you can unwind reading a newspaper while waiting for your turn.
