Spa Medical Centre

We have been with the Spa Medical Centre for over 30 years and throughout that time I can only say that their doctors, nurses and reception staff have been faultless. We have never had to worry about getting appointments and in extreme cases had to call a doctor out for a home visit. This is a surgery that should be very proud of their impeccable care for our family. Congratulations.

I have been registered with the practice for over 10 years, and normally have nothing but positive feedback for the majority of the doctors (Dr Claire Rigby in particular is fantastic).Unfortunately, over the last few months I have been made to feel discriminated against by a certain Dr Teare, all because I am unvaccinated.It began last year when I phoned up for an unrelated issue, and was made to feel extremely pressured and upset to disclose why I didn’t have the vaccines. He even threatened to contact the police because I didn’t want to test again (I wasn’t leaving my house, I wasn’t putting anyone else in danger and didn’t have covid as I told him repeatedly).I had the misfortune of speaking with Dr Teare again today, for yet another unrelated issue. He made me feel like I was a “sub-par” patient, and was spoken down to in such a way that I have never received from a medical “professional” before, all because of my choices surrounding the covid vaccine (to which I have an extremely valid reason for not having). For the second time, I put the phone down in tears and even felt as though the care I would receive wouldn’t be to the standard of someone who had been vaccinated.It is incredibly tiring when you are feeling unwell with something entirely unrelated, and have to deal with such a rude, judgemental and unsympathetic individual.

I was told to book an appointment which I have tried to do. I was however told I cannot book a non- urgent appointment (HRT)in advance. I must phone each day to ask for an appointment???? Baffling - this will only produce more phone calls to the surgery when one call was necessary. I was told this is so non-urgent appointments don’t block urgent appointments! What tosh. Making more work than necessary. Looks like I will be clogging the phone lines as well as many others next week when a future appointment could have been booked this afternoon .

My little boy recently had 2 appointments and each time we had no issues getting through or getting appointments. Plus the receptionist was professional and friendly. I was more than satisfied with the treatments my son received. Plus having the pharmacy in the same building is super convenient.Really happy with our choice of surgery so far.

I have rung over 100 times and I haven’t been unable to get through. Their website won’t let me make an appointment online so I’m stumped as to how people are able to review if you can’t get an appointment. My last surgery in Surrey if you rang on a Monday you were always answered and had an appointment within 2 days. This is a shocking service.UPDATEOver the last 6 months I have needed to ring to get an appointment (both times a conversion was sufficient for my needs). They seem to have upgraded their phone system and I was able to get through and spoke to a doctor within the hours binge times.

Huge thank-you to spa medical. They have gone above and beyond to ensure my partner got a bed at ruh and ensured we were to be seen by the correct doctor at ruh and made sure all tests being done. I can't thank Jackie enough for her patience and help on the phone today with ruh. And a thank you to Dr White whom called ruh and ensured my partner was seen by the best doctors. You guys are by far the best practice iv even been too. Thank you so much

I only have experience of the surgical side of the practice. Can only rate the whole experience as excellent. Mr Nick Reynolds and his team were amazing. They were caring and not only made me feel safe but ensured that I was comfortable and happy with the procedure. I chose to return to Mr Reynolds and his team for surgery as my past experience with them was so good and I know if I have any issues during recovery they will happy to give advice.

Absolutely excellent with each experience. Lately I’ve been calling for several reasons and each time I get a phone call appointment and then a face to face appointment with the GP. They respond to concerns really well, reassure you about your concerns and give you really good advice. I saw 3 different doctors (Dr Smith, Dr Rigby and Dr Williamson) this past few weeks and each one has given the best service.At times we’re all complaining about NHS Spa medical centre honestly has really helped. Other people complaining about their experience in different cities has put things into perspective.Thank you and keep going!

5 stars for, the nurses who are excellent, highly skilled , knowledgable, competent, good attitudes, good communication skills. Faultless. The best nurses I've ever encountered. Definitely the best part of the practise.

Friendly receptionists, very helpful nurse - I missed an appointment this morning and at my old practice would have gotten an earful but they were very kind and understanding and sorted me out through a phone appointment instead!Haven't yet had an appointment with a GP but thus far, very impressed with the service, compassion and willingness to help.
