We can’t thank Joe enough for giving us the best afternoon on the Kayaks. His knowledge of the area is excellent and his patience is never ending. It felt a privilege to get so close to the local wildlife whilst Joe ensured we respected their environment and didn’t cause any disturbance. We highly recommend Joe as a great tour guide and excellent Kayak instructor.

Joe made our kayaking day really enjoyable with very helpful instruction and even a lovely coffee and biscuit on the rocks. We never felt rushed and a relaxing experience. This was all topped off surrounded by beautiful Islay scenery. Love to do it again.

We had a great time learning to sea kayak in the most wonderful location.Joe is a patient and knowledgeable instructor with a wealth of experience.We felt safe at all times under his watchful eye. After a while getting to know the basics, Joe led us out in a paddle across the bay, which gave some special views of Bowmore.We would heartily recommend Adventure Kayaking for a fun afternoon on Islay.

We had lots of fun and felt very safe with Joe leading us. We learnt lots of stuff in a very fun way. He showed us how to keep ourselves safe in the water. Great for all ages. Our 9 year old son even managed some standing up paddling. Brilliant experience. Would do it again!

Had a wonderful couple of days paddling the waters of Islay with Joe.Joe has a great passion for kayaking and a huge knowledge of the history and wildlife of the island.A real gentleman. Would thoroughly recommend for your paddling needs.

We had a really fantastic morning out with Joe on the half-day trip. The landscape is stunning, Joe is a patient teacher and we got followed by a group of curious seals which was great fun. Would recommend for a unique way to see Islay and to get your muscles moving!

We had a great morning with Joe, kayaking from Bowmore. Joe was so hospitable, knowledgable and thorough with his instruction and full of helpful hints and tips. We had a lovely time paddling with seals and spotting all the wildlife around the midway stop for a brew was fab too! I can’t recommend Adventure Kayaking highly enough if you are looking for a different way to explore Islay. Thanks Joe!

We had a fantastic time out on Loch Indaal. Joe took great care to look after us and provide us with all the kit and instruction that we needed. Joe was a really interesting guy to spend an afternoon with, he was full of great stories. Our trip included a wonderfully surreal tea break on a tiny island, surrounded by seals and feeling 1000 miles from everyday life. Thanks again to Joe for his generosity of time and spirit. This was a highlight of our trip, and something we will certainly do if we’re lucky enough to visit Islay again.

Just had 2 fantastic paddle days with Joe in islay. He organised exactly the style of paddle that we requested ( gentle). He planned that we had tidal assist both going down the sound of Islay, then back again after crossing to jura. The next day he very generously provided plastic boats so we could rock hop all day along the coast from kentra. Stunning scenery. Everything felt very coordinated and he was very generous with his time. Strongly recommend.
