First time at this restaurant and what a experience it was.By far the best Italian food I ever had, friendly attentive staff, great ambiance, a excellent menu.I cannot praise this restaurant enough, we will be returning with friends & family, why not delight yourself at this gem of a Resturant in the heart of Colchester.

Beautiful food, really friendly staff & amazing value. Atmosphere is warm and cosy. Wine was great too. I’ll definitely return & would recommend to others!

Suggested by my date we went along having both read reviews, which were all fairly positive. The staff were attentive and helpful, along with he restaurant décor which was also nice. However the food was very dissapointing the bruscetta was a slice of toast with halved cherry tomatoes on with no dressing, one classics of all Italian dishes was excuted so badly. My calamari was such a small size for the rpice (I know food cost etc but if it isn't value for the guest then don't put on the menu. My claves liver was a very sad excuse for a dish and was serve in a come dine with me style. Over cooked soggy peppers and half arsed roasted potatoes overall the only dish that was ok was the risotto. I would save your money and cook at home no matter how bad a cook you think you are you will probably do better than here. The experience was also let down by the erratic lighting the restaurant seemed to have one minute being din and ambient to bright time to leave liken to a discotheque in the late 80s!!

I cannot fault the service or food experienced at this restaurant.I booked a table on NYE 2021 for myself and partner.I can say from start to finish, the service, food & ambiance were first class.The menu may not be the most expansive but in the current climate, wastage needs to be kept to a minimum if restaurants are to survive.Restaurants like this one needs our business and I am more than willing to eat here once or twice a month.Please give this place a visit!

Just had food from here, the food turned up cold and the portions were a complete joke! Asparagus starter was 8 quid and there was 4 bits in there, in a massive box, calves liver was smaller than a child's portion with a cut of pepper 3 very small halfed new potatoes, the carbonara was tasteless and the sauce was like sludge. Spinach portion had about 10 leaves.Do not order from this place.

Great service. Great food at a reasonable price. Beautiful building. Complimentary breads and generous sweets with the bill. No idea why this place isn't busier - it deserves to be.

5 star for the food and 5 star for the waiter, very polite and approachable waiter, chef must be good because the food was brilliant, overall 5 star*****. Recommended

Amazing and attentive service inside an atmospheric surrounding with a varied menu of super tasty food. Big selection of starters and big menu of various pastas and grilled meats. Highly recommended.

Lovely experience in Cibus this afternoon, authentic Italian food, was very well priced and delicious, service was very intentive and was not bothered by the waiter every 5 minutes. portions were very filling. Not sure why this place is not busier.Few bad reviews here that seemed to order take away, do not be put off by these.We will definitely be returning
