The views look like they should be abroad. It's a pebbly quiet beach and dogs have to be kept on a lead along the front but there's a park behind which runs along side it where dogs are allowed with clear footpaths and a big park for kids to play. The public toilets are free to use and fairly clean.

By far my favourite spot for our weekly sea swimming trips. The Mermaid Cafe is nearby, with delicious coffee, tea, cakes, snacks and ice cream on offer. Highly recommend a visit.

My friends and I attended the recent air show in Folkestone and due to record crowds decided to head down to the beach for an unobstructed view. It was quite busy considering it was virtually high tide and there had been warnings of yet another sewage spill thanks to Southern Water! But the promenade was tidy and clean thanks to the many litter bins available and even recycling bins too.

This place has changed so much. So well done. Was very windy but plenty of sheltered places. Had a great Sunday afternoon chillin.

Mermaid Beach
The view from The Leas Cliff on a sunny day is excellent. Zig Zag Path takes you down the cliff on foot with beautiful views, and the beach has small coves, creating a beautiful swimming and sun bathing environment. There are many dogs with their owners. We loved this beach and strongly recommend you visit here. I couldn't see any toilets or washing facilities on the beach! There are toilets on The Leas Cliff. There is a walking path between the beach and the harbour.
