Our B&B hosts recommended this FREE walking tour of Bath. Our guide Anne was excellent. Extremely knowledgeable and able to communicate the history of Bath in a easy to follow manner. Anne explained the history, geography, architecture, development and people who have contributed to the city. Would highly recommend this tour if you are visiting Bath.

Mid April '23 we discovered this walking tour that starts just outside the Roman Baths. It's FREE. Totally free. Yes, free. They won't even allow tips. so 100% free. It is 2 hours long and the different guides all put their own spin on it and take you slightly different places. Our guide was Collin (two Ls) ... OMG - so good. Very well spoken, great humour. Informative. Full of history and points of interest. An excellent tour guide. After the tour we spoke to Collin a lot and he said they're part of the Mayor of Baths Office. Mostly retired locals.Collin's slant and interest lay in architecture, but others may lean more towards art or sport. We obviously covered the Baths, the Cathedral, Polly Lunn's, Pulteney Bridge, the Circus, the Royal Crescent, and Georgian Bath, and then so much more on top of that. The walk was at a casual but good pace. I even found my father's old grammar school !If you're in beautiful Bath for a few days, this is a great first thing to do. You'll be able to orient yourself afterwards and find your way around much better. This tour, combined with an open-top bus would be perfect.Super highly recommended.Did I mention that it's free?! :)You'll want to tip them, but can't.

Took the Mayor's guide walking tour around Bath today and had a wonderful time. Our tour guide was extremely professional and very knowledgable about the city. We went around all the major landmarks of the city and were treated with stories & history of each. The tour was completely free and the guides refused to take even tips.

Great tour, happy to have the chance to join! I would recommend it for everyone, it's free, the walk is done at a comfortable pace, covers some lovely sights while sharing informations, often with cheeky humour. Our guide, Gary, was really great! In addition: as a person with a hearing disability I could hear and understand everything he said, so it was fully accessible for me too, which was comforting and nice.

How can you not give it five stars I could really do with a donation bucket at the end of the tour. Very insightful and you get to learn a lot for nothing even if they put a voluntary donation it would definitely be worth it. Our tour guide had a trainee badge on but it was like he had been doing it all for years. Really recommend it. Wish I could give it 10 stars.

What a wonderful introduction to the beautiful city of Bath! Richard M, our guide was informative, entertaining and made each member of the group feel personally a welcomed guest. It encouraged us to retrace our steps the next day and visit the Baths, museums and galleries. And it was all for free! Thankyou Richard M and Thankyou Bath!

Thank you for providing such an excellent tour! Our guides were really knowledgeable and engaging, the tour was well-paced and provided a good introduction to Bath. The tour lasted about 1.5-2 hours and covered the major sights and a lot of the history. Works well when paired with a trip to the Roman baths.Hugely recommend for anyone looking for a tour - it's completely free and the guides refuse tips, so it couldn't be any better value either
