Motorpoint Newport

27/11/23My daughter got a car from Newport Motorpoint just under 3 wks ago it had a fault we went straight to the showroom and within 2 1/2 hrs they had tested the car, sorted out a new one for her which she picks up tomorrow. We had a courtesy car to get us home. BETH and ANDRE went above and beyond for us. An amazing job from beginning to end. Motorpoint are lucky to have you both thanks so much.

Found the car online, didn't pester whilst looking through the forecourt. Able to test drive right away. I had finance arranged elsewhere but Howard found one cheaper (winner) and I was driving away in my new car the next day. I can't fault motorpoint or Howard and when my partner is due to get a new car here will be my 1st choice. Absolutely brilliant team/service and kept up to date through the whole process. Within 10 days of purchasing the car I had to replace all 4 tyres due to severe cracks, but somehow these tyres were checked the day before purchase and deemed no cracks. Also had to change brake discs a few days later for bad pitting. When I told motorpoint this they basically said, MOT was done by a third party so they are happy. So within 2 weeks of buying the car I had to fork out an extra £660 for something motorpoint should have picked up in the full service they carried out the day before.NL69 GNK

I bought my car here & sold it back when I no longer needed it. Both times when dealing with them they have provided excellent customer service. When purchasing my vehicle they offered flexible financing to suit my budget & tailored the finance quote to include GAP insurance & a comprehensive warranty. They offered a very competitive price for my part exchange & the handover was very slick. When the time came to sell the car back to them they offered me a price that was £400 more than the nearest competitor & again the handover was quick & painless. They paid the finance settlement & the remainder of the equity was in my account before I made it back to the carpark to leave. All in all excellent service on both occasions & when the time comes for the next car Motorpoint Newport will be my first choice!

I have buffer trails all over the vehicle and severe damage to the clear coat on the roof in several spots, I am now left with a bill of £840 to sort these issues out.Motorpoint have offered to fix the issues themselves however I will not be going back there, as I believe they are not capable of rectifying the problem to a sufficient standard, my reasoning for this, If they could have done a better job they would have done so before putting the car on the forecourt.

We drove all the way from Devon to buy a car from Motorpoint. We searched all of Autotrader and their cars were the best value for our money. It's a slick operation as they sell 500+ cars a month, so expect buying a car from here to be quite fast and streamlined. It's a massive yard with so many options to choose from. All makes, fast cars, slow cars, family SUV's, posh cars, you name it they've got it. We bought an extended warranty over the standard 3 months they offer. Plenty of other upsells if you want to burn some extra cash but our sales guy wasn't pushy or using sales tactics so never felt obligated to buy the upsells. Would strongly advise anyone against buying a car from Motorpoint.Purchased a 2020 Vauxhall Corsa from the Newport branch on 26.06.2023 and shortly realised that their was a problem with the reverse gear and that it was not clicking in as it should which I reported on 16.08.2023 and was advised by Chris Dodsley to book my car in to my nearest Vauxhall dealership. On the 19.10.2023 it went in to Evan’s Halshaw Newport for 1 day where they advised me that the reverse gear is infact not clicking in but also that the clutch is sitting very high and possibly wearing out which could be the problem for the reverse. How could I possibly burn out a clutch in 8 weeks of driving?I informed motorpoint of this who told me that I would need to book it back in and send them a report of the problem so they can see the real issue and cost to fix, however in order to get a report and cost Vauxhall need to strip out my gear box and clutch to find the actual issue which would be a bill of around £930 as it would take them around 6 hours to do this. Motorpoint have basically told me I need to authorise them to strip my car and give them a report when this is done before they decide if they will cover the cost of the repair, if they decide no they will not cover it I will be left with a bill of £930 to pay. I don’t understand how this company can expect this and how they don’t believe they missold me this car and not willing to accept liability.
