A very nice, small, museum in the centre of Bridport. Some interesting exhibits and information about local, historical trades, some of which are still carried out today. Also has some interesting fossils from the area.A visit to museum can be easily included in a visit to Bridport and/or a visit to the local brewery for a tour.

Warm welcome from knowledgeable Volunteers. Main feature is the history of rope making and my wife took advantage of the living display by making a length of rope, which was then given to her.Lots of info about horrific work conditions in years past, not least for children as young as six.A memorable few hours spent there.

Super cute little museum, with an eclectic mix of local bits and bobs. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and very happy to explain things to excitable children (although there aren't many things children can touch and interact with, so very small ones may get bored). There's some fascinating displays on the local history of rope and net making and how Bridport contributed to the war effort in that respect, as well as bits on the local railways, and local hostorical figure Dr Roberts' Poor Man's Friend" cure-all. Entry was cheap (a fiver per adult and free for children under 18

A museum run by incredibly knowledgeable volunteers. We called in somewhat late in the day but we were not disappointed. One volunteer who knew all about nets, ropes and history of rope making in Bridport bought our afternoon alive with an insight into the industry of the area. Next time we need to make more time to explore the Tudor building and it's contents. It really is a jewel not to be missed when visiting the area.

Really cannot fault this place. Not only was the subject matter fascinating, but the volunteers made it come alive, they're a credit to the museum. Spent a good hour in here, loved the art exhibition and I made my.own rope!

It's ok. Difficult to want to go when it costs £5 per adult. Much more could be done to make it exciting for kids.
