Reception staff is so rude makes the patience want to avoid calling even if in need. Overall receptionist attitude can only be described as Bullying. Poor manners, total lack of empathy , those ladies should not be in this line of work. Doctors of the practise are nice but to get to them i wish you good luck as a generous amount of abuse will be dispensed beforehand. Avoid this practise

If you are thinking of joining this practice then think again. Dr canning is a disgrace and shouldn’t be practising as far as I’m concerned. Everytime I called about my 8 month baby I have been fobbed of . My son has severe allergies and we had to go private as this doctor surgery wouldn’t even see us. 5 days we waited for a call back when they have a duty of care to see him. I’m appalled at the way we have been treated . Wish I had read the reviews on here before joining the practice last June.

What a horrible experience I had at this doctors office. I went seeking medical advice for my son and got accused of being a bad mother, my 13 year old son being immature and 7 year old daughter being stupid when this women had just met me for 2 minutes and never met my daughter. How dare she call social workers on a hard working mother!?! There is nothing more important to me than the health and safety of my children!!!! What a disgrace to not make my sons health a priority than to sit and accuse me of being a bad mother shame on you!!! Not only did we have to take my son to a&e to make sure he is OK. This could have been avoided if you were more professional and were more concerned about his head!!!I will never set foot in this practice again!

Dr Canning should be struck off for gross negligence, the man has no empathy, sadly I cannot give zero stars..

Terrible reception staff.My own GP (at another, much better practice) told me my child would also need to see a doctor about the same matter. The receptionist told me they didn't and rudely hung up on me when I tried to explain. She obviously thinks she knows better than my GP.It is proving impossible to get an appointment for my child, though I've been trying in person or on the phone repeatedly. The reception staff are rude and the booking system does not work at all.When I finally got through, I was told dismissively to see a pharmacist. When I explained that I had already seen my own GP about the matter (a quick and easy appt. to book) and she had specifically told me my child would also have to see a doctor- she said goodbye and hung up.

Cant praise Doctor Canning highly enough. Would give 10 stars if I could. He is not my doctor. But he has looked after my daughter and son in law and grandchildren. Brilliant man

This practice is the worst I've ever come across. Disorganisation doesn't even come in to it. Constant confusion surrounding repeat prescriptions. The infuriating thing is they never have a credible excuse as to why they are always in a muddle. In addition, the pharmacy, T McLean, Stonelaw Road, where the prescription goes to (eventually) never has enough stock and that usually means a repeat visit to them. Both come right out a comic book - pure joke! Binned both of them now, long overdue. Avoid them both at all costs!

My Dad was a patient for many years and was given excellent care particularly in the last few months of his life. Despite the difficulties caused by Covid restrictions, Dr Canning, his colleagues and team were on hand to provide professional care with understanding and compassion. My Dad and our family were very grateful.

The management of this practice is appalling. It is extremely difficult and stressful to get an appointment with a GP.You must be on the phone at 8am to try to get a telephone or face to face appointment for That DAY only. It is Not POSSIBLE to make appoints for future dates (eg next day/following week). Only a small number of appointments are available in relative terms and they go quickly. Do not even bother to phone past 8.30 because the appointments are taken.If you are lucky enough to get through and get a telephone appointment they are unable to give an approximate time that the GP will phone back - could be anytime that day! My daughter missed her call due to reception on bus and had to go through the whole thing again next day.The system is a mess...there are plenty of other practices that have triage systems that run very well and sadly I'm looking to move to one now.The ironic thing is that they still continue to take on new patients.
