The Dam Inn
First time visiting this pub with family. We went on a Saturday in the late afternoon. The only thing that let the visit down was the service. Nothing unfriendly or rude just a lack of care. The bar tender didn't listen too well as we asked for no ice or lemon twice but he seemed on autopilot and put them in anyway. The waitress seemed indifferent throughout service and when we asked for sauce politely it felt like it was too much trouble - no check back after food was served. The place wasn't busy so couldn't understand that side of the experience. Criticisms aside, decor was welcoming, the food was really nice, portions good and value was very reasonable. I'd give the place another go if I'm in that area again. Another note: We parked in Newmillerdam public car park at a small cost and walked across as the parking there is very limited so wouldn't bank on a space.

We booked The Dam Inn's function room for our daughter's Christening party and we were overwhelmed by the level of professionalism and the quality of the service and food. Josh and his team pulled out all the stops and truly gave us a magical day! Given that we requested the room on Easter Sunday and knowing the kitchen staff would have been run of their feet, the food was plentiful and absolutely gorgeous. There were more than enough staff on hand to serve drinks and they were keen to ask if we had everything we needed. A truly first class experience and all our guests commented on how fantastic the day had been. We can't thank you enough for making our daughter's day very special! 5 stars well deserved!

Food was a big surprise. Everything we ordered was beautiful. Even kids' meals were cut above. Just wish the kids' desert menu was better, but I'm nit picking here. Staff where lovely too. Definitely be back.

we arrived late lunch on 2:40pm Friday. we ordered the mixed grill. the steak was bit tough. the rest of meats were ok. fries were crispy. the sticky toffee pudding with custard was delicious but I wished that the pudding portion was larger.I noted the 10% service charge was added on my bill but there was no written statement on their menu, so i asked to remove the service charge on my bill.

Food good, if a bit pricey for what it is.Interior fairly recently redone, clean and presentable. Staff friendly. Good location to have lunch then go for a wander around the Dam itself.Staff got one part of the order wrong, but this was soon corrected. Two issues - The car park at the pub is a bit small and cramped, though there is adequate public parking the other side of the dam. Also you have to pay for parking here (£1 for two hours, £2 for four hours) so make sure you have some cash with you.Biggest annoyance is that on the last page of the menu, in small print, under the kids desert menu, they quietly announce that they will automatically add a 10% VOLUNTARY SERVICE CHARGE!!!! Bit naughty in these days, if you don't check your bill.Overall not a bad place to visit, good chain pub.

Been here a few times and food is lovely, atmosphere is great and they welcome dogs which is fab when you’ve just been on a dog walk. Only downfall, been in today and I ordered hot tuna melt sandwich. The food came (was delicious) though the tuna was cold and the cheese had just been melted under the top under the grill so didn’t constitute a hot sandwich. Still lovely thought just a pointer!! Chips were gorgeous also!

1st of all parking is hard work not many spaces. Other than that brilliant, clean, freindly service, really good food. comfortable seating, all on one level well worth it.
