At Your Dog's Pace - Dog Training, Behaviour and Care

We have been attending Jen's classes with our golden retriever for the past 9 months, since she was 12 weeks old. Her knowledge, experience and the course content are first class. I would highly recommend the classes to anyone who is looking for a trainer who is fully qualified and will be able to help them from the early days through to adulthood. You really couldn't be in safer hands as Jen is also a fully qualified clinical animal behaviourist.

I have worked on behaviour issues with Jennifer for both of my dogs and she has been excellent to work with. One of my dogs was a very complex case and Jennifer has worked tirelessly with me and my vet to get the very best outcome for her. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jennifer to work with on any behavioural issues you have.

Highly recommend this puppy training class. Jen has a great knowledge on the subject and has a fantastic manner with all the dogs.The class covers a range of methods to train good behaviours, and Jen is able to adapt her class to ensure each dog is able to understand and complete the training. Not only was the class informative, it was enjoyable for both us as owners and for the puppies - our Staffy was pulling us through the door every week!

We booked onto puppy classes but reached out prior to these starting for some advise on puppy biting, settling and crate training. As first time puppy owners we felt like we needed some guidence before the lessons started Jennifer came to do a home 121 session and covered all areas we we're concerned about. Jen is a great teacher & I learnt lots of useful things to help train my puppy. The only gripe I have is that the course felt quite short for the amount of things covered & could occasionally feel a bit rushed. Jen does send an email with everything covered that week which is great but perhaps if the course was longer then then me & the pup could have followed a little easier.I would still recommend the classes to anyone & would happily move on to the next stage if/when a space becomes available.

Teddy really progressed in the Puppy classes with Jen. He's a lot calmer and more responsive to commands. He still has stuff to work on but Jen has given us the stepping stones to help us move forward.

We have done the puppy course for our dog teddy, Jen has been fantastic. Both us and teddy have been looking forward to the classes each week and will be sad that they are over. Would highly recommend for anyone with new puppy’s and also for 1 to 1 sessions!

We have just finished our puppy classes with Jen! Rufus loved every minute and we have been able to put into practice his training at home. Jen has helped Rufus turn into a great puppy and we’re so thankful! We honestly recommend At Your Dogs Pace to anyone!!!

Jennifer taught me skills to help manage my reactive 2 year old dog, who was very untrusting of people and situations out of his comfort zone. He would bark at anything and everything that was different and was also very difficult to walk. He his now a much happier dog. He has learnt such alot and so Have I.

Bjørn, my 13 months old Golden Retriever, and I will complete our second six week block of training for the APDT Good Companion dog training awards with Jen this week. There have been 5 other dogs at the sessions and everyone works at their own pace choosing their activities from the appropriate level Good Companion Awards. Each activity is assessed when the dog has a secure understanding of what is required. Jen gives individual, detailed guidance for each activity, including asking the guardian ( handler) relevant questions to assess their knowledge and understanding of their dog’s needs. There is a rosette and certificate awarded once each item in a level has been assessed positively. This training is giving Bjørn a solid foundation for his behaviour and future activities, although he has a way to go before becoming totally reliable. I can highly recommend Jen and her expertise as a trainer.
