Spurn National Nature Reserve
Disappointed in the apparent lack of wildlife. I'm sure it was there, just couldn't see or hear any.Saw a few birds in the estuary but nothing to get excited about.Road shut off 3 miles from the point which is a shame, especially if you are disabled. In view of the inaccessibility I would not bother going there again. Six miles of trudging for very little reward.

Check the weather and tide times before going as you can be cut off at high tide.Visitor centre can provide this information or Yorkshire wildlife Trust website.

Loved this walk was very breezy, we had sun, rain but what a lovely walk. Would definitely do it again. Was £5 to park and they charged £4 entry to lighthouse. The toilet facilities at the point were very poor.

Cycled over to the point. Easily done on a mountain bike, just the sand to negotiate on the wash. Great views from the top of the lighthouse and the old military buildings at the end very interesting.

A beautiful place to visit and appreciate the wildlife especially birds. The visitors centre + café is welcoming and offers a good selection of drinks and snacks and WC. I highly recommend coming if you like nature and walking. Be sure to follow the advice regarding the sandbanks near the estuary and check the tide timetable as you could get cut off if you're careless.

Absolutely stunning place. We took our bikes and had to push them for some distance over the sand where the storm had breeched but it was worth it to cycle to the point. There are WW2 lookout posts to investigate which have recently been opened up. The views are fabulous.

Absolute tranquil landscape a must see location seeing is believing !! . The landscape changes it appearance with the tide's and the sun and weather no two days are the same . The reserve is a great place for bird spotting as migratory birds flock here and depart for warmer climates as the seasons change , there are also various mammals that frequent the reserve , plus if you are lucky you may see a porpoise or two . This really is a get away from it all place and a great place to walk and take in the fresh air !! A good walk to the lighthouse is only about three miles away from the café/center and is not too taxing . Please check tide's before walking as you may have to take shelter in one of the safe shelter shack's . The center/café offers a fair selection of snacks and beverages and all helps fund the conservation program . Recommend for walkers and nature lovers of all ages who appreciate the get away from it all experience ! .

Enjoyed lunch at the centre, with splendid views. they have plenty of information about the area, a small gift shop, clean toilets. The car park costs £5, machines a bit iffy, but you can pay at the Discovery Centre. Nice helpful staff.

This is an outstanding place to visit. The views are amazing and the walks just go on for ever. The nature reserve is huge and there’s a lot to see and squeeze in if you only have a short time.I’d recommend a whole day and there is a lot of walking involved but so worth it.The Beach is very long and beautiful and it’s quite shocking to see how much the cliffs have eroded over the years and the damage that’s been done by it.Walking across the Beach you come across huge pieces of concrete that have fallen away and are now just a part of the sand it gives off a very eerie feel.Sadly you cannot take your Dog across the Reserve but I understand why and although disappointed we were shown another walk in which Dogs were allowed so it wasn’t too much of a disappointment after all as the walk was still very long and the dog loved the beach walk.Great day out if you’re a lover of nature walks and outdoor activities then you’ll love it but be warned take plenty of water as there’s no where to get a drink once you’ve left the main parking point near the cafe..

An amazing unique reserve run by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. You can walk the 3.5 mile's to the point or hire a bike (but it can be heavy going pushing it over the 0.6km of soft sand of 'the washover' - the part that floods at high tides so Spurn becomes an island so check the Trust's website for those dates). We chose to have a safari - a guided tour with an expert in a high army lorry {steps to climb} that drives to the point. There is a nature one but we took the military one. The guide took us in many buildings that have been uncovered and explained their WW1 & 2 history. We plan to return to take the nature one. A great way of raising money for the Trust.
