We’re new to the area and just moved to Dalton in early December 2018, the staff at the recycling centre are always happy to help, courteous and polite. We have recycled a huge amount of cardboard boxes and they are always straight over asking if they can help unload the car - their service is second to none and they are a credit to their employer, thank you.

Sowerby Household Waste Recycling Centre
Staff are extremely unhelpful. We have tried numerous times to leave an item and have been told we can't even though there is an area where they accept them and there is room. Need to retrain staff to be more helpful and not rude.We then had to travel to Northallerton instead where an extremely good member of staff volunteered to transport the item from our car to to correct area. Maybe Sowerby staff need training by the others. Do not use unless you want to queue for half an hour then be turned away.

Excellent service and a very pleasant group of workers. There are two lads who are brothers I believe. Couldn't be more and helpful. I have been using this site for 20years.

Staff always friendly and helpful. Sometimes have to wait a few minutes to get in if there is a queue. Longer if the skip wagon is there.

Got a permit from NYCC as we needed to get rid of tons of disgusting rubbish left by previous owner of our home! The lads are really helpful and knowledgeable. Had to wait about 20 mins to get in, but they have to take away the full skips and replace with empty ones. I just sat in my car listening to the radio. Have to admit it was nice to just sit and relax.

The people who work here have always been friendly and helpful whenever I have needed to go and dispose of my garden waste and bulky items.They are full of funny asides and always happy to have a quick chat.

Been here afew times now and on each occasion been told one out of the car only and on all occasions there have been others with two out of cars there as my husband and I have health issues we could do with helping each other just get your rules right and treat everyone the same the guys are usually very nice just need to treat everyone the same

Sowerby Household Waste Recycling Centre
This site is well run and the staff are welcoming. It seems that a large percentage of the materials passing through are recycled. If the wind is from the wrong direction the smell from the sewage works next door can be a bit strong.
