Came in for an evening meal as we fancied some hearty food with a warm fire but they were only serving pizza. Three fireplaces but no fire and no atmosphere. Had a drink and moved on to a pub that more suited what we were after.

We did not stay here so can't say about the accommodation, I booked an evening meal for 6 people Saturday lunch time for that evening. When we arrived and started looking at the menu this is when we were disappointed, we found out that there was low levels on some meals and some if the meals were discontinued. How ever we all had a meal and what we had was very nice just a shame we could not have what we wanted.

Best pub in town without a doubt!Friendly staff, very cozy, nice courtyard and well themed. The map of middle-earth on the wall was a really nice touch. The food was good and arrived swiftly, overall great service. Plus, the pub dog was adorable and friendly too.If you’re ever in the area and considering a pub to visit, The Bell Inn is the only right choice.

Very nice pub, real ale on sale. Compact front area that was well presented. Food served here. Staff were friendly. Popped in for a beer which was good. Good visit.

Drove up from Cornwall and had a great weekend staying at The Bell. The room was spacious, very clean and a very comfy bed. Lovely powerful shower too. Good selection of Ales and very friendly staff. A perfect place to stay.Excellent pub accommodation.

Full of dogs, smells of dog as a result. Couldn’t even open the front door because a dog was blocking the entrance. Sandwich a rip off, frozen fish fingers in bread with no seasoning, side salad out of a packet and some doritos disguised as ‘tortilla chips’. Come on guys, at least have a go. Ale in good shape.

We stopped here whilst travelling around the Cotswolds looking at sights that inspired Tolkien whilst writing The Lord of the Rings. This is a lovely pub with some great bar staff. We had a few drinks which were reasonably price, sadly we didn’t get lunch as it was very busy and had an hour wait. So we looked at some of the old photos around the premises. We took some pics and chatted to some regulars. A great pub with the added bonus of being the inspiration for the Prancing Pony in Lord of the Rings

Great bear, friendly staff, and good service. When we visited, the restaurant was closed, but the alternative pizza menu was brilliant. The only sad bit was the lack of a Lord of the Rings information, it's the inspiration for the prancing pony in Bree, and maybe a themed pizza or beer and some info would really add to the experience... but that shouldn't detract from the fact that it's a lovely place, with good friendly service.

We stayed three nights at the Bell Inn as part of our 50th year anniversary trip. We could not recommend the Bell Inn more highly. John and his staff made us feel incredibly welcomed. Our room was comfy, the food was terrific (do not believe those who denigrate British food), and the staff was friendly and attentive. We loved the atmosphere in the pub. JR Tolkien would be proud to see how well the place has held up.
