Jen Roffe Modern Lettering and Calligraphy Studio

This was a great workshop and introduction to calligraphy. Jen was very encouraging and it was surprising how much you can learn in a short space of time. A lovely way to spend the afternoon.

I went to Jen's Autumn Wreath calligraphy workshop and thoroughly enjoyed the evening! We were made to feel very welcome and Jen has a calm and encouraging style of teaching. I am really pleased with my finished piece, so much so that I have also booked onto the Christmas Cracker workshop with a friend!

Jen is a great artist and teacher. The beginners workshop was the perfect introduction to modern calligraphy. It was very instructive but also relaxed, sociable and supportive. I bought a colour pen kit which was beautifully presented and full of ideas for practicing what we had learnt. I would highly recommend.

Jen's Autumn Garland workshop last evening was a lovely experience. Her welcoming manner and easy demonstration style made it fun. We all felt we had achieved apiece of work we could be proud of.

I had a wonderful time at a beginner's calligraphy workshop. Jen was a fantastic teacher and the pace was just right. It made such a difference being shown the correct techniques and having them explained properly. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable way to spend an afternoon.

I went to Jen’s modern calligraphy workshop last night and can’t recommend it enough!Not only is Jen incredibly talented, she is patient, attentive and makes the whole experience so fun and person. Love love loved it- highly recommend; I feel fully nourished from it!

Just attended a great workshop with Jen who is a great teacher. The workshop was very mindful. Despite having no previous experience at Brush Calligraphy by the end of it we completed a lovely piece of work to remember the day. I would strongly recommend attending one of Jen's workshops a to learn a new skill. Your cards and gift tags will never look so good. I will definitely be booking another session soon.

Wonderful evening workshop; as a total beginner it was a really enjoyable way to start learning modern calligraphy. Jen was delightful. She was very mindful that we all have our own style (much like we do our own handwriting) and highlighted that we shouldn’t compare our work to anyone else in the group, which made it all the more enjoyable. We recently attended an engaging and inspiring calligraphy workshop with Jen as a family, and would very strongly recommend Jen’s classes to anyone with any interest. The session was practical and informative, and we left feeling able to start on some creative projects despite having started out as complete beginners. Jen guided us from baby steps to the development of our own styles in a manner that was encouraging and fun, but also peaceful and rewarding.Jen is kind, patient, and supportive. She created a friendly and relaxing environment in which we felt comfortable to try out techniques and develop new skills.We particularly appreciated the way that Jen made special accommodations for our 10-year-old daughter, who was the only child present, but who all the same felt warmly welcomed, included, and even empowered.Thank you to Jen - we hope to see you again soon! :)
