After completing the online training, I felt that a bit of face-to-face training with Sarah and Carol would be helpful.I cannot say how pleased I am that we did this. The two days of training was not too intense, lots of time to chat over problem-areas and ask lots and lots of questions, all in addition to the excellent training with the dogs. A nice small group (just four dogs when we did it) made sure that we had lots of opportunities to spend time with the trainers.Above all, there was no pressure to do things right. It was relaxed and friendly, whilst always professional.As a result, our little Dolly is now seeing clients in a therapy setting as a fully qualified therapy dog.We couldn't be more proud of our pooch, or more grateful to Sarah and Carol!

I cannot recommend therapy dog training uk enough. I wanted to set up my own visiting therapy dog service for local schools in my area, as an extra income for my dog training business. I enquired with other companies who did similar but after finding TDT UK I knew they were the people to go with. From the start of the online workshops it’s was very clear how well thought out and written the course was. What stood out to me was how much importance was placed on the dogs welfare and their mental well-being. The whole course centred around making sure the dog was happy in the environment and how to ensure this when delivering animal assisted therapy sessions. Within the course I had all information I needed to then go on fo set up my visiting therapy dog service - including example risk assessments, memorandum of service and information on insurance etc. I finished the workshops feeling fully equipped for me new role. All the online training videos were really easy to follow too and I was able to train my dog to do all the required behaviours for her assessment. The assessment was also very thorough and it was great that I could do the assessment face to face and not too far from home. Since passing our certificate my dog and I have been successfully going to schools and delivering our therapy dog service. thank you so much TDT UK for opening up a wonderful new door to me and my dog!

Very useful training.

I'd worked as a teaching assistant for over 14 yrs & decided that we (Indie my Collie & I) would give therapy training a go. Indie is a very calm dog so I enrolled. Right from the start Carol & Sarah were so positive & welcoming & gave me the confidence that I could do the online assignments. The weekend away in Bristol to meet with Sarah & Carol & guardians with their dogs to gain accreditation was absolutely wonderful!! Atmosphere was relaxed, practical lessons - lots of support, any questions answered. I can honestly say that we (me & Indie) felt supported the entire time - assignments at home & practical assessments - one of the best things I've ever done!

I can’t recommend TDT(UK) enough. They have fully prepared and equipped my canine partner and myself for one of the most challenging, emotional but ultimately rewarding roles. Training was comprehensive with a great focus on understanding your partner and ensuring their safety and wellbeing, absolutely paramount to a healthy working relationship. Having ensured we are safe and competent to work in this role they are also supporting further training to enhance our provision.

There was so much quality information and the step by step training guide was extremely well taught and easy to follow. The passion for looking after the dogs welfare, training in the most ethical and responsible way shone through. I loved that above all else, taking care of how the dog feels is priority and therefore more likely for the dog and handler to have a long lasting happy career together. Highly recommended.
