Visited for dinner tonight, beautiful interior, friendly warm atmosphere. Food was absolutely spectacular for all of us (myself, son, husband and the grandparents). Our waiter Ethan was hilarious and made the visit even more enjoyable, will definitely be visiting again... hopefully very soon!

Fabulous Sunday roast, lovely friendly staff, and a great atmosphere. All at affordable price.We arrived with friends, were staying locally. Nothing was too much trouble.Best roast dinner we have had in years.

A favourite local of ours. Since new management took over earlier in 2023 the menu has been much better. The food quality is really good with lots of flavour. Staff are fab and friendly. We really like the atmosphere and food here.

I would give this 4.9* very good nice to see professional waiters and good quality food. Shared a dessert and remember to give two spoons. Ordered 3 & 2 course.Soup was delicious and lamb melted in the mouth. Nice fresh & green vegetables. Only thing cooled down quickly like our meal, common problem. Maybe hot plats & bowls would have helped.Dessert was all we needed to top off with. For me not having a Sunday off and having a Sunday lunch was very rewarding.

We booked a table for 8 people and the dog for our wedding dinner. The service was excellent, the food was very yummy, and the portions were huge. We all had a great time. Thank you, guys! Well done to the manager who welcomed us and made sure we all had everything we needed.

Wednesday Evening First time back for almost a year. Staff very friendly helpful and polite. Food delicious had Black Pudding starter followed by Chicken Breast in wonderful garlic mushroom sauce, served with tasty sliced potatoes. Nicely presented beautifully cooked. Would have liked some vegetables as an option. Will definitely be back.

We were not expecting this quality of food ! Fantastic service from walking through the doors. The Basic looking menu did disappoint at first and we were both expecting standard pub grub at best for the price... But how wrong were we ? Generous portions politely served and enjoyed by us both..would definitely recommend a visit !

Came up for Lumiere light festival from London. The travelers rest was recommended to us so we came for a roast dinner with the family before returning home. We were made to feel welcome and the staff while busy never appeared stressed nor rushed us.We had a 2 course meal. The food was excellent and the portion sizes were very generous.Excellent value, I would definitely recommend and will be returning when I'm back up in the North East.

Called in Thursday lunchtime with husband. He had beef sandwich with chunky chips and gravy, I had prawn sandwich with chips and salad. The food arrived promptly and was absolutely delicious, served by very friendly and attentive staff. There was a steady stream of people coming in for food as the pub seemed very popular. I would not hesitate to recommend this pub to anyone. Everything was absolutely top notch!

We had 2 meals here whilst visiting the area. The meals were super, lovely and hot, flavoursome, high quality and good value. The service was especially friendly and attentive and our little dog was welcomed and provided with a bowl of fresh water! We would highly recommend this pub.
