Avoid! Absolutely appalling service received by Taylor.We purchased our own carpet and he agreed to fit. Unfortunately after the first day (17th May 2021) we noticed some damage to the carpet. We informed Taylor of this damage as soon as he arrived on the second day, he said he would look at it later. In the afternoon Taylor approached me and said the damage cannot be repaired and said the whole carpet would need replacing and refitting.I appreciated his honesty and we discussed what to do next.Taylor gave the option of him finding a replacement carpet from his supplier or he offered that we could have a like for like from the company we originally purchased from. The later being our preference as the carpet purchased came with extensive garuantees for wear and stains which is very important to us as we have foster children and pets.Taylor left after we had agreed on the mistake made and thanked us for our understanding.The next day came (18th May 2021) and I messaged Taylor for an update, however I didn't receive a response.Again on the 19th May I messaged again and got no response, so I called and got no answer.I continued to attempt to contact Taylor via text message and phone call for the next 6 days but was ignored.On 24th May 2021 an independent flooring company came to assess the damage.They found the following faults:Irreparable damage to carpet at top of stairs made by a knife (not child or pet)Landing carpet cut too short and offcuts of carpet wedged in to hide the obvious gapPoor cuts along skirting leaving frays and poor finishKnife marks in skirting boardsBolster marks along skirting boards that have removed paintDamage to all woodwork that had been freshly painted.After messaging Taylor with the findings from the assessment and stating if the matter is ignored I will be forced to leave a bad review and spread the word warning people to steer clear of his work. I again asked if he would like to resolve or go to small claims court as I am out of pocket £224.70 plus damage to paintwork that needs repairing, he finally messaged me back.He has gone back on his word after walking out and is refusing to rectify his mistake.The state he has left us in is absolutely disgusting and I've had carpet fitters apologise on his behalf as they can't believe someone in their trade would do this.We are very genuine people who didn't make a fuss when things went wrong but to be left like this is just awful.We are foster carers and have small animals. We have been left with exposed grippers and a half poorly fit carpet and now we have to go to small claims court.Please steer clear as much as Taylor appears genuine and helpful he has proved us wrong in this instance and ripped us off.
