King's Standing Mound

It's an Iron Age burial tomb - not just a 'mound'! Five stars for being still there when most of the others in the UK have been ploughed flat or robbed by Victoria treasure seekers pretending to be historians.This 'mound' was NOT used by King Charles to review his troops whilst Aston Hall was getting a Parliament kicking because the two incidents were years apart.Apart from that it is good to have a solid piece of our heritage in the neighbourhood.

According to Wikipedia a late neolithic (late New Stone Age) to late Bronze Age. Interesting and pretty obvious at the very top of the hill alongside the former Ryknynd Street (Roman road).
