A wonderful evening hire, fantastically skippered by Paul. Whisper quiet electric engine. We were fortunate to have superb weather. Loved the whole experience. Fran very quick to reply to an enquiry I had after booking but before trip. Recommend.

We hired Gull for what turned out to be a really pleasant two hours exploring the river beyond the bridges. Everything from the first enquiry to handing the boat back at the end was so easy.

I used the little pink ferry boat for my wedding to transport my wife to Hamble royal southern yacht club and she loved it and we had nothing but compliments how good the entrance was. It was so nice that I was allowed to put flowers on the boat too. Definitely would recommend using Hamble River Charters to friends and family.

Had an amazing day on the upper Hamble relaxing on Gull, a great hire for any family. Plenty of space to relax, enjoy the scenery and the amazing silent running of Gull’s electric engine. We stopped in a quiet spot, enjoyed a family picnic and swim before returning to the marina.From booking to return a great experience and could not recommend highly enough.

What a delightful experience! Such a joy to be pottering along without the noise of an internal combustion engine. We really enjoyed heading up stream, it was so peaceful and we saw a range of interesting words on the muddy banks.

We have had Gull out quite a few times, everyone loves it even in grey days, because it is so quiet and chilled. Went crabbing this time round, got a few decent sized ones! Wholly recommend this for a very cool day out….

Last week we had a really good trip out on “Gull”, the former Hamble ferry which has been lovingly restored and fitted with electric propulsion. Sometimes you get on a boat and everything about it seems just right and that’s how we felt about Gull. I’d not skippered an electric boat before but I’m now a convert - it’s so quiet and just slip’s though the water, needing only moderate revs. In three hours we used just 30% of the battery capacity.I’d been on the Hamble many times but always on sailing boats so had never been beyond the road and rail bridges. The upper stretches of the river are a revelation, quiet and peaceful - much like the Dart or the Fal - and a world away from the busy activity on the lower reaches. Not that those are without their charms as we found when we explored them later. Towards the end of our trip we picked up a buoy and had a delightful picnic lunch before returning Gull to it’s berth and handing the keys back to the friendly, helpful marina staff.Everything about this trip was top notch; the initial enquiry, the booking process, the information supplied pre-charter, the pickup and return and the boat itself was in wonderful shape.
