Sevenoaks Bookshop

I needed a book as a birthday gift .I gave the shop a call to see if they carried it in stock .After checking they said it wasn't in stock but could get it in for the next day.I went ahead with the order the following day I recieved a text message to inform me that the book was ready for collection.Excellent service.Now , yes I could of got the book online and probably saved a pound or two.But it would have been in the post so can't guarantee what condition it would arrive in.It wouldn't have been in a nice paper bag and they wouldn't have given me a complimentary bookmarker.More importantly unless we support our independent shops we will loose them and that would be such a shame when we have one as good as this.

Wonderful selection of reading matter. All sorts. Stationery, ideas for Xmas gifts. Great cafe with yummy cakes.

A great local bookshop , a friendly welcome, a calm cafe with fun window displays! Expertise on a range of genres, including adults', children's fiction and writers in translation. We have supported the bookshop since we moved to the area 23 years ago.

Most charming & friendly bookshop. Even has little write ups on lots of recommended books, books set locally, all sorts . So pretty and a lovely little cafe too which even allows dogs in. The perfect bookshop!

Lovely little book shop. Shame about the customer service!Visited to exchange a book that after only a few days the laminated cover peel away, the book and not been read at all. The lady staff member basically insinuated that we had done this ourselves which was not the case whatsoever. Reluctantly she went to hand me a replacement, I told her not to bother! How very rude!

What an absolutely wonderful place. I visit anytime I'm in the South of England. Good books, good people, good hot chocolate. What more can you ask for?

Only giving two stars because when me and my partner went to the Richard Armitage book signing that was held, we went to ask some questions to the owner, Fleur, at the end and we kept getting rudely cut off and spoken over multiple times. When we finally managed to get our questions out, If she didn’t know the answer, she could have pointed us in the right direction to someone who may have known. Given that she mentioned she was the person who organised this particular event, im surprised she wasn’t able to do this at the very least. The owner just wanted to get people gone out the door. The event itself was good and Richard was brilliant, but I found the owner to be incredibly rude. If she didn’t know the answer, that’s fine, but there there was no need to be so abrupt and for us to be spoken to the way that we were. This is the reason for only 2 stars.

Lovely little bookshop - albeit quite small - but some unusual titles. Really enjoyed browsing and left feeling a bit inspired

Good selection, knowledgeable staff and some excellent recommendations. Absolutely vital service when getting your kids into reading and don’t know where to start. A local shop I will be supporting going forwards.
