Looking for my son's first car, saw a couple on auto trader sold here. I tried to call the office number 3 times and the mobile number once to check they were still there/ available to test drive... No answer on all 4 occasions, but I decided to risk the 26 mile drive as the cars move quickly with them being ideal first time cars....(my choice)I should have known from the mixed reviews on the owner what a mistake that was..... on arrival we didn't even receive an acknowledgement, not a hello or anything.. (I have read previously about him not pressuring people and completely respect that, and actually agree with this decision) I would however expect an acknowledgement or can I point you in the right direction/ what are you looking for etc, but nope nothing. Once we'd found the car, had a quick look round it I asked if I could take it out for a drive.... the response, no I've not got my trade plates

Just bought Ford Focus for my lad. No fuss, no frills, no pressure sales, very helpful & friendly. Here's to hopefully, happy trouble free motoring I would have given 5 stars but need to see how reliable the vehicle is.

I bought a Skoda Octavia off this dealer in June and the advert stated that the vehicle came with a warranty and 12 month MOTThe MOT ran out in October 4 months after purchase. I would describe this garage as potluck on what you buy and reading the other comments most of the cars have faults. I rang the owner to say the vehicle was making a noise when driving so he asked me to take it to his garage who he recommends in Wakefield.I made the booking and went across and the garage was closed so rang back again and he told me to take it back again the following day which I did, I got the car back and it was still the same so I had it looked at myself and it needed a new nsf driveshaft and all the brake linings needed renewing (which on its MOT from 2021 they were recorded as advisories and low) I rang the owner to discuss the warranty and MOT no answer so left a message to which he never responded.

Took my lad here to view a couple of cars weekend before last, a Ford Focus and a Hyundai i30, each costing about £2250. Whilst there he spotted a more expensive black Peugeot 508, 68,000 miles on a 61 plate.We approached Paul, having been browsing hassle free for yonks, and asked for the keys to listen to the engineThe car started first time and the engine under the bonnet was very clean. I could see my boy wanted the car and Paul cut me a fantastic deal, driving the vehicle off the forecourt within an hour of arriving there.Proof of a recent service and 12 months MOT were handed over, along with a green slip.Yes the car was dusty, but it had obviously been cleaned at some point, and there were two or three scratches, hence the windscreen price of £3450. In absolute pristine condition, this car would have been selling elsewhere nearer the £5k mark.My boy is absolutely thrilled with his new wheels.Paul seems to me to be a thoroughly decent , honest chap, trying his best to make his customers happy whilst making a living buying and selling affordable cars.As in life, you get what you pay for.Highly recommend .

Bought a Ford focus from here and it's been an absolute gem. A couple of months into using the car there was a issue with the brakes which was repaired for me under the warranty via a garage Paul is associated with. Got it fixed the same day. Will definitely come back when I am looking to upgrade.Don't be disheartened by some of the other reviews cause when it comes to buying used cars it's generally a gamble. The important thing is the service you receive before and after your purchase. And as mentioned above Paul did really well with that aspect. And I was lucky enough to pick a car that was well looked after by its previous owner.P.S Sometimes he will ghost your messages but when something goes wrong, he is there (which is the important bit).

Bought a 308. Good price but it had faults. I paid for a minor repair £125 to save going back. Had to go back though when other faults arose. Estimated cost £200/300 which Paul paid for. Problem was that his garage is 25 miles away so it cost me half a day. Had to hang about outside for 3 hours. Moral of the story never buy a car without test driving first. Paul dealt with the problems but it is a time consuming process. Update: Repair didn't work so I gave up. Garage wouldn't give me an invoice either. This of course set the alarm bells off. Had to review star ratings as above review changed. Update 2. In response to the comment by the dealer who said I wasn't entitled to the original invoice. I contacted him and asked for a copy. It's been 3 weeks I think and one hasn't arrived. Also in response to being offered a refund. It's a very time consuming business getting a car. That's why I refused. I just wanted the problem resolved.

I bought a Mini Cooper from Paul a couple of weeks ago and she's an absolute dream, top car top service from a top guy, cheers Paul, keep playing the top music, a great experience buying from OSJ compared to other places I've frequented.

Bought a car hassle free a couple of years ago. Turned out to be the best one we've had. No pressure and help if you need it. I made a good choice. I can recommend without hesitation.

I can certainly recommend OSJ Motors on Wakefield Road in BARNSLEY - not only for the fair pricing of their motors but also for the excellent after sales service I have received in respect of adjustments to a motor I purchased a month ago. Paul the proprietor was on the ball in coming to my aid in getting my vehicle sorted ASAP & was persistent in my being satisfied with my car which I really was - many thanks to Paul & the garage boys at Wakefield for everything!!
