Oakley Car Repairs

Unfortunately my experience was not as good as others that have reviewed. With it being my local family run business I was really rooting for these guys. I took my VW Transporter van for a rear bumper replacement. I dealt with Lenny at first to get a quote for work to replace bumper, remove rear badging on van and respray where required to touch up any nooks and crannies. I called him a couple of days later and he had no recollection of the whole meeting/requirements/quoting whatsoever which was disheartening considering we spoke in detail about a lot of other things too. I did notice when he writes what needs to be done in his book, it’s not very specific so perhaps that’s why things are missed. The quote you get is on the back of a business card. This should of been red flags but these guys have been around since 1989 and have good reviews on Google so you kind of look past that. Anyway, when I picked the van up the bumper wasn’t on properly, the spraying of the bumper was done first then holes drilled for the parking sensors so the finishing was awful, and he didn’t take off the badging at rear of van as agreed. They took the van back and had another go, he apologized and said it was his workers fault and that he had not been around much to “sign it off” so to speak. It was a lot better the second time but the bumper was not on properly still. After a couple of weeks the paint started lifting as well. I took it to VW for a second expert opinion, they said as the bumper is not on properly and the parking sensors housing are not lining up with re-enforcement bar behind it, it’s putting stress on the rear bumper and causing paint to lift in some areas. Took it back to Oakley car repairs and after weeks waiting for Lenny to get back from Saint Lucia, I took it back all for Lenny to say it’s been hit again!! Offered to respray bumper for free (as paint lifting in areas) but I would have to buy a new bumper. Laughable! I was not about to pay them any more money. Took it back to VW and job done beautifully! Money lost at Oakley car repairs (circa 1.5k) and no refund offered, partial or full. Will not use or recommend ever again. His sons are lovely and friendly though and to be fair were really willing to sort the issue out but needed to check with their Dad (Lenny) first, and all went south from there

These boys are true professionals. Had a look at damage to paintwork on my car on same day and gave me some invaluable, unbiased advice. Polite, knowledgeable and accommodating. Highly recommend.

The guys at Oakley Car Repairs did a superb job on repairing the damage to our car. The vehicle was finished on time to a very high standard and washed and vacuumed . I highly recommend these guys who are very skilful body repairers and very decent people.

I would highly recommend using Oakley car repairs! I had my bumper damaged repaired then re-sprayed. I was so pleased to have my car back to its former glory. The work was first class. These guys are so friendly… I drove there just recently after just denting the front bumper. I knew it could be popped out with a bit of heat. In less than two minutes, the car was back to normal. Thanks you so much guys!

I have popped in to the garage to get a quote for a limescale residue removal body repair. Lovely Gentleman was very generous and helpful - he kindly offered removing marks on the spot, without pre booking. Their service is great and their work flawless.
