I booked Mike to get 3 hours of tuition before a big shoot. I was comfortable with my camera but I felt rusty. The booking process was really easy and Mike kindly booked Ang (who is an incredible model) for the shoot. Wow, what a great experience. I got everything I needed and more from it. Got my confidence, a chance to ask industry professionals some questions and some incredible photos. I highly recommend the studio, Ang as a model and Mike as a teacher and photographer.

Had a fantastic workshop with Mike around studio lighting. Went in with little knowledge and how to get the best out of lighting and position. After the workshop which was very hands on I now feel more confident in booking a studio photoshoot.

A fabulous afternoon working with Mike exploring studio lighting, covering a wide range of set ups. Lots of opportunities to try things out and learn in a practical way working with a fabulous and very patient model. Can't wait to try out some new ideas now!

What an absolutely amazing days tuition!!! The content was comprehensive but oh so accessible and for someone like myself who has never shot on digital before, it was truly groundbreaking. I cannot recommend Mike enough for his excellent delivery and all the points he covered . If you are at all thinking about photography tuition or looking to improve your technique, look no further. I wanted to improve my studio lighting skills and booked Mike for a three hour session. He is an excellent and experienced tutor. He confirmed my learning throughout and demonstrated patience when required. He trained in a practical manner which I appreciated. Would highly recommend and already planning my next session.

1:1 bridge camera familiarisation session with Mike.Mike provided me with a bespoke 1:1 session at his Sherburn studios in which we covered so much, and learned so much. The session was extremely well prepared and well structured, and Mike took time to explain key concepts, and how I can achieve some really good effects and images on my new bridge camera. His experience is massive, and he is a super tutor in a subject he is clearly passionate about. After the course he emailed me a set of the powerpoint slides which had formed the basis of my session. This means I can go back and refer to them as I start to take images with my new camera. This session was a great investment and worth every penny. The booking and payment process was easy and smooth, and directions to the studio were clear and detailed. All in all a wonderful experience which fires me up and motivates me to start using my new camera. I cannot recommend Mike highly enough. Thanks very much Mike. Hired the studio for some large products shots with Mike on hand to help with the light setup. Mike was very friendly and super helpful and the studio space was perfect for our needs. We will be back again soon and I would definitely recommend!

I had a portrait photography workshop with Mike and thoroughly enjoyed the day. Mike was very friendly and welcoming and had a vast amount of experience that he was easily able to communicate and pass on. The learning through the day was helped by Mike creating a comfortable environment which I imagine would be the same whether he was teaching or dealing with clients. The model for the day was equally as friendly and fun to work with and more than happy to pass on her experience from in front of the camera. Both made the day feel like a group effort to improve my photography and seemed genuinely invested in me being able to learn new skills.

Mike Lester Photography studio is great! All the facilities are there (car park, kitchen with supplies to make hot drinks, toilets, a private area for changing that includes a dressing table and mirrors). The studio is clean and tidy with plenty of clothes and props. The backdrops, lighting equipment, and the space available is brilliant! We had everything we needed to have a fun and successful photoshoot. Mike was lovely in attending to myself and the photographer to make sure we were happy and had what we required. I’m very happy and I can’t wait to see the photos!
