Loved walking round the quarries, kids enjoyed the abandoned dwellings. Very rustic. You can park at the top of the village of Talysarn and walk to the quarries.

Beautiful but dangerous in places. Such a pity to see this history being swallowed up by nature. So much more can be done here. It has awesome potential.

Nice walking area. Mostly flat gravel paths some small slopes with plenty of various old building to explore. No stiles and no farm animals seen on main circuit so friendly for dogs.

Great place to go for a walk. Beautiful views and you'll get to see the abandoned buildings being reclaimed by nature.Online some older guides say if you come from Nantle Road side you can follow the road, open the gate and park the other side. But this isn't the case anymore. The gate is padlocked and has signs saying there's no parking. If you were to drive down there, you'd have to reverse white a bit as there's nowhere to turn.Instead park at the roundabout at the end of Nantle Road.

Excellent place to visit, visited dorathy quarry yesterday and was a fantastic day out. Highly recommend plenty of things to see and do, really impressive with the amount of slate laying around nature is taking this place over shame the bushes are not cleared back as there's a lot of history in this place,The lake inside the quarry is beautiful blue on colour and the water is very carm and cold!! You can see plenty of baby fish and blue dragonflies.Highly requemend

Plenty to see at this disused quarry a lovely walk with remains of its past scattered all over this large area both times I've visited its been quite and I've spent hrs there both times, I noticed that people use the flooded quarries for scuba diving also the water looks crystal clear but it has taken many lives.

Sensational place to visit, this is a must to put on your to do list! Miles of track that traverses through the old slate quarry, follow the slate trail and you won't be dissapointed, left for nature to reclaim you can see the remaining buildings used to house workers of the slate mine, you can find remnants of the old mechanisms and machinery used to get the slate where it needed to be, an absolutely fascinating place steeped in history, some great spots to camp out over night, just be sure to take your rubbish as it seems alot forget that part

Abandoned quarry with loads of old buildings and massive slate quarry structures. Some great Welsh history being slowly consumed by nature. I have been visiting this site for the last 20+ years and it's a real shame to see the ever increasing vandalism and old household appliances dumped in and around the site.
