Holland & Barrett - Erdington

I like H&B, reasonable location and size, pretty much had what I wanted but could have been a more friendly service.

I went in on 7th May to buy something. I couldn't see what I wanted so I asked the staff who was stacking the shelf. I could not believe how rude she was. I shall take my custom to a different branch where I am respected.

Paula, an exemplary employee at Holland & Barrett, consistently demonstrated dedication and expertise in her role. Unfortunately, her unjust dismissal has left a void, contributing to a decline in the overall quality of the workplace. The absence of her skills and positive influence has seemingly transformed the environment into a less desirable and efficient place.The manager in question exudes an air of disrespect and negativity, prioritizing financial gains above all else. Their leadership style lacks empathy and fosters a toxic atmosphere within the workplace. Employees often find themselves demoralized by the relentless pursuit of profit at the expense of a positive and respectful work environment. This manager's single-minded focus on monetary goals diminishes team morale,creating an environment where personal well-being and job satisfaction take a backseat to the relentless pursuit of financial success.

Went into the Erdington store this afternoon (Friday 2nd June 2023). The store assistant was so helpful and kind. She pointed out a few things about the product that we were buying, and even told us about some exercises to do.

Love the great customer service, the lady took her time to explain the different items they had and helped me make a good choice.

Staff are kind and helpful as i bought lots of nuts and seeds.

I love Holland and Barrett they have excellent quality products and the staff are kind and respectful.

If you know what you're buying, and you're planning to run in and out, they have a reasonable selection despite the compact and cramped store. The biggest letdown though is by far the staff who have occasionally just left the till entirely unoccupied as I wait there for upwards of five minutes for someone to actually let me buy from them.

Would not recommend erdington branch. I went in October my mother was dying and was on oxygen. 3 times was told they could not give me any advise on products because my mother had cancer. All I wanted to know products did not have vasline base in products. Nothing to do with cancer the two young men where un professional in their manner. I understand they cannot give advise re illness. I just wanted to know about ingredients. Two other people in the shop also needed ingredients advise. Given same reply. I personally feel they just was not trained enough to know anything. Also when I first got there only 1 person in store. When 2nd lad walked in saw amount people in shop he was not in a rush to help. I used shop there all the time. Now I shall never enter that shop. Lack of empathy. Lack knowledge let the store down. I only spent £50. If I had real help I would have gladly spent 4 times more. Just to give my mom's last week's happy. Very sad they did not want to even help me find creams safe to have around oxygen. Nothing to do with advise on cancer just information about ingredients of products

This store really lets the company down especially when compared to the excellence demonstrated in the surrounding stores in the Birmingham area - it is poorly lit, very small and difficult to navigate and chronically understocked and short-staffed. I recall one poor experience recently whereby I simply opened the box, not the bottle or lid, of an essential oil to try and smell it better and upon doing so the store manager rudely stormed over and practically snatched it out of my hands to check it was still sealed before placing it back on the shelf and then made me feel uncomfortable by staring over until I had left the aisle. A time after this a gentleman had shown some bad attitude when I helped a fellow customer in my vicinity before he had the chance to and then created a bitter atmosphere for the rest of my shopping experience. A time before this a lady had refused to exchange or replace a faulty item and then even refused to dispose of it responsibly for me. All being well I have endeavoured to try and give this store the chance to improve but ultimately it consistently falls short and as such I just won't be visiting here again. As mentioned however, the stores particularly in Sutton Coldfield and Perry Barr are exceptional.
