So expensive! 18 £ to shorten a pair of pants!

Would not give me a quote until they’d pinned my dress to the correct length (which took 2minutes) . When I decided not to use their service they rudely asked me for £5. Totally unfriendly and unreasonable.

I never normally leave reviews but this place is absolutely amazing. I have been there twice and asked to get clothing altered and done on the same day, which they managed to do even if it was very busy. I highly recommend going.

Very expensive. Simple skirt length shortening £25 ! Work done was ok. Explanation difficult bc of the language barrier (broken English).

I went here to have a dress taken up and it was so expensive, I paid over twice what a friend paid to have the same dress hemmed! (I'd never done this before so didn't know what the going rate was and wasnt aware that this was a particularly expensive place). I'm sure they are very good and worth it for more complex alterations, but for simple alterations I'd go somewhere more affordable - my friend paid £35 and I paid £75, the hems looked exactly the same!

So delighted with my dress that I had altered and picked up today. I keep coming back because the seamstresses here are so professional and genuinely concerned about getting it right. Thank you!

Sewing House do a very professional job but quite expensive.

I called in to enquire about taking in the side seams of a denim dress from waist down to above knee-length hem and asked the price to do so. The woman there was unfriendly and disinterested and while she quoted 'around £25,' she added that she could not say exactly until she had started the work. So what? £30, £40 or even £70 according to one reviewer on here, and like her, I didn't pay that much for the dress in the first place! Where I used to live, the local seamstress was experienced enough to know her work, her price structure, make a sensible estimate and then commit to a price. Suffice to say my business will go elsewhere.

Literally took a couple of inches off a dress and charged me £70 which was far more than the dress actually cost in the first place. When I challenged it she said they charge according to the work done and really wasn’t interested in having a discussion. Silly really as I won’t be returning or recommending them in the future. There is no rhyme or reason as a gentleman was quoted £18 for a pair of trousers to be taken up when I first popped in.On the positive side it made me realise that I should learn how to make alterations to my clothing myself as would be more cost effective and satisfying! I have given 2 stars because at least the dress was taken up properly.

So professional and did an excellent job. Very reasonable price. Would highly reccomended . Had a long silk bridesmaid dress altered to take in the bust- did a fantastic job.
