We had a lovely meal here during our stay in Peterculter. We had the Tikka Massala and the Korma, and both were delicious and full of flavour. The poppadoms and chutneys while we waited were lovely and the naan bread was so fresh and tasty. We were served by Dhrubs, who is very pleasant and friendly and chatted to us about some Napalese traditions and some of the musical instruments that are hanging in the restaurant. We would highly recommend The Himalayas if you are anywhere around Aberdeen.Fiona & Kevin visiting from Ireland.

The best visit to the Himalayas yet. Food was almost gourmet standard, unbelievably tasty and high quality. Most dishes gluten free but packed with flavour which is rare. Well done. Great place for sitting in rather than taking away or home delivery. Service great. We will see you again soon.

So lucky to find this gem across our trip to Aberdeenshire! The buttery chicken was smooth and full of flavour! The lamb was soft and infused with lentil and cardamon! The wine list is extensive, including wines from India! The chef serves you with a mountain of flavour, making it the most tasteful hike of your life!

We have ordered take out food from here on many occasions and have always been really happy. The food that was delivered last night went uneaten and bore absolutely no resemblance to the favourites that we always order. Also at £12.95 per main dish and £3 for boiled rice plus £3 delivery (about a mile and a half at most) and a service charge for a card payment, it was more like sit-in prices than take- out. Had the food been up to the standard that we are used to, all of that would have been fine but it wasn’t. Won’t be back.

What an absolutely lovely restaurant with the friendliest service and delicious food! I ordered takeaway and while there was a short wait while the food was finished and packed, it was no trouble at all--the very polite and kind staff gave me a free cold drink and assured me that my food would be very fresh. It absolutely was, and my order was packed with additional free crispy popadums--so tasty! The veggie momos were plump and mild, with a spicy tomato sauce--this was truly the best momo sauce I have ever had, and I have lived in India near the Nepalese border. The portions of rice and curry were generous, and the paneer butter masala was rich and flavorful. As I waited for my food, I enjoyed the cozy ambiance of the restaurant and the relaxing music playing--not too quiet or loud, just the right volume for guests to enjoy and still be able to chat with each other. If I was staying for more than one night in the area, I would certainly come back and try the dine in experience! The ONLY small change I would make is that, for online orders where someone is paying ahead by card, there should be an option to add a tip online, too. I would have loved to give a tip but I never have cash, and I'm sure others are in the same situation! Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant!

Easy and yummy dinner out. My sister, myself and our parents were craving a curry on a Monday night and it ticked all the boxes. Our server was delightful and even through in some humour which we always appreciate. Food was presented beautifully and we all agreed they had the best onion Bhaji’s we’ve ever had.Treated to some Moroccan tea at the end which we also enjoyed. Would really recommend!

We have ordered takeaway from here twice before and both meals were absolutely delicious. However, after our most recent order two of us ended up with food poisoning and the other two had sore stomachs. Although the food is tasty, I have been put off from ordering here in the future.

Absolutely amazing. We went to get take away and ended up sitting in due to the friendliness of the staff welcoming us. We let them recommend items to eat. We had the tandoori meat platter and a vegetable curry. The homemade samosa’s for starters were so crispy and delicious. The nan bread was possibly the best I’ve ever had. Everything tasted so fresh and yummy. Staff were very attentive, helpful and kind. Will most definitely visit again.

We went last weekend & were curious as we heard it had changed ownership. It's always had a good reputation, & very busy previously with local customers in Peterculter. The decor is now bright & airy, nice & fresh, the layout has changed, no more booths, it's nicely laid out but gives each table space/privacy. Also really enjoyed the background music, created a lovely atmosphere, very Zen.We were greeted by the new owner Krish who also has 8848 on Union Street, extremely welcoming host, he assisted us with our choice from the new menu & also with Nepalese wine that is best suited to our meal. All staff were very pleasant & service is brilliant, all I can say is WOW!!We had a variety of different dishes, & were keen to try the traditional Nepalese cuisine. We shared the meat platter which came out sizzling with aromas that made your nose & taste buds come alive...the taste was magnificent with accompaniments chutneys, yoghurt dips etc that complimented the meat. Followed by momo/dumplings, butter chicken & monkfish. All the curry sauces were truly mouthwatering.Honestly I've never tasted such beautiful food, all very fresh, full of flavour & spice, & all things nice, but my tongue wasn't set on fire, it was mild/medium heat" but the vegetables & dips also had a "cooling" effect...we also had the orange sorbet as a dessert whuch really cleansed the palate
