Hermaness National Nature Reserve
Great 4 mile walk around nature reserve. If you go round anticlockwise towards the lighthouse first, there is a long climb back up the hill along the coast to join the boardwalk back to the car park. Fantastic views and Bird life.

Hermaness National Nature Reserve
Probably the most amazing place on the Shetland Isles for bird enthusiasts. It's a long (1,5 hour) walk to get to the bird cliffs, but it's very rewarding. You've got a good chance to see puffins even halfway through August, when they've left places further south already.

There is a car park/toilets. A long boarded path takes you to cliffs(5o min walk). Great Skuas are on the moor, Gannets & Auks on the cliffs. Stunning scenery.

Hermaness National Nature Reserve
A the end of a lenghty, mostly uphill plank board walk you are amply rewarded with a spectacular coastal vista where countless seabirds electrify the skies. Saw our first puffins there...mezmerizing to watch them emerge from their burrows and go about their day. What fun!

Lovely nature reserve with views of Muckle Flugga, it has a boardwalk to avoid all the boggy bits. Was lucky enough to walk here on a nice day at sunset!

Hermaness National Nature Reserve
Beautiful, authentic wild-atlantic place. The trip can be exhausting due to the significant changes in elevation. Some parts are very steep! Bring your binoculars if you want to see the bird colonies well! Free to access, the round trip is about 8kms, we did in 2,5 hours.

Great place to see coastal birds, especially giant skua and gannet colonies - make sure you walk up to the lighthouse for best gannet breeding colonies on offshore islets.
