My Mum has been at Stoneswood for the last 12 months, including through the Covid crisis. The staff have always been brilliant, they clearly care about their residents and treat them with respect.Through the Covid crisis we've had weekly communications from the management team to keep us informed and reassure us that they've had sufficient PPE, they've been testing residents etc. I'm so glad we chose this home for Mum.

My aunt has been at Stoneswood since May last year.I have always found the staff and the organisation of the home to be first class and very caring.I can wholeheartedly recommend Stoneswood to anybody who is seeking a care home for an elderly relative.

Covid-19 has been handled extremely poorly, residents are being infected and the manager Valerie is very concerned with the loss of income from this, so if you don't care about your family and you want to help the homes bottomline, sign them up. If you care for them, I suggest you look elsewhere

My grandmother is a resident in this home, and has been for almost two years. The home and its grounds are absolutely beautiful, as is the recently-opened lodge where residents and guests can enjoy time together. The inside of the home is comfortable and homely, and staff are always on hand to help. The Covid-19 crisis has understandably been a worrying time, and Stoneswood's management have gone out of their way to ensure that relatives are reassured and kept up-to-date. Staff have gone above and beyond, with some even volunteering to live in the home full-time for weeks at a time to avoid the risk of bringing in infection from outside the home.Dementia is a cruel illness and nothing about seeing a loved one suffer with it is enjoyable, but knowing that my grandmother has been looked after so well in such a lovely place has been one small consolation. I would urge anyone with a loved one who is in need of full-time care to consider Stoneswood.

My mum has been a resident of Stoneswood for the past nine years and has had the best level of care imaginable. The staff are helpful, friendly and understanding. If they have any concerns, no matter how small, they always contact us or medical professionals to seek advice. The way that they have handled the COVID situation has been exemplary - always going over and above of what was required by government guidelines and often putting measures in place before they needed to.A few years ago we were looking for care for my late father who had complex needs which unfortunately Stoneswood couldn't cover. We looked at many nursing homes but none of them came close to Stoneswood's standards of care or accommodation.I think the negative reviews on here must be mistakes and refer to another home because they have no resemblance to our experiences with Stoneswood in Delph.

Didn't even go further than ringing to make an enquiry due to the fact who ever answered the phone with yes "didn't seem to understand the issue of not answering the phone in a better manner. I asked who i was speaking to the reply was "why who are you".Doesn't instill confidence at all in leaving a loved one there."

This is my own opinion, others may differ. Water jug/cups I provided for room were removed. Hard-working but low staffing levels. I believe food's inappropriate/poor quality e.g. meanly-filled sandwiches using margarine (for a generation who abhor it after rationing experiences!?); hot-dogs for tea or jacket spud with dried-up baked beans(!); breakfast options are varied but not actually offered - if a person has porridge for a few days, it's porridge on and on; fruit's in the kitchen, somehow doesn't seem to find its way onto residents plates? Management...I believe they're highly defensive, autocratic, intolerant of relative's concerns or even questions. Liaison with Drs: really needs reviewing as staff aren't medically qualified yet a deputy manager declined to pass on a critical medication concern, 'I'd prefer to just see how it goes....'. Look beyond when you visit, check room for soft drinks/water, visit at tea time. Oh, and PLEASE, those with dementia still prefer tea in a pottery cup, not a kiddies plastic non-tippy-cup. This unnecessary 'safety' measure, spoils a simple pleasure. Hope that dangerous staircase has been made secure, hope MUCH has changed.
