Since Majestic stopped their 6 bottle rule, we have not bought wine anywhere else. The staff are consistently excellent with great knowledge in all their Edinburgh branches and beyond. As they have tasting stations, we have tried wines we would not have perhaps considered and therefore our wine palate is much more adventurous! I have given Majestic the highest rating possible as shops of this standard are few and far between.

Great staff, nice range and recommend the wine tastings. Now with the 6 bottle minimum removed years ago it is even more highly recommended

Staff can be snotty on occasion most are helpful and informative , but there seems to be a real commission oriented vibe , also a bit of a snob shop if you look posh and well heeled they fall over themselves to let you have a sample cause if your posh you must really appreciate wine and all that (??) otherwise all they care about is getting your money in the till regardless of whether your giving them repeat business you don't look well heeled you probably won't be given any samples. But at the same token they begrudgingly take your custom. Also once I come in with a wee bag with shopping already in it and bought a bottle of wine literally had to prompt the staff member to provide a carrier bag. They have a narrow selection of wine the usual regions and nations not much adventure in the selection compared to some other wine shops. But its clean and well displayed.

The absolute favourite wine store. Large amount of excellent Argentinian wines! The only country that knows what Germans love in wine. Historically logical. Their French selection is magnificent too. Any country really but even better, they have spirits too. Do come here, if you have a thirst on! Wonderful people work here. I’m amazed at the prices. One can get excellent wines around 10-15 quid and that’s proper top shelf stuff. Come here for wines!

I love Majestic Wine. The staff are totally down to earth, but know pretty much everything there is to know about good wine. Prices are fair, and they stock a very wide range so there is always something for everyone, no matter your taste preferences or ideal price point. The best thing about Majestic Wine is the lack of any pretentiousness - whether you want a vintage merlot, or just a nice white wine with a cool looking label, you'll get the best advice and a wine that actually meets your requirements. I'd definitely describe myself as a loyal customer now, and I'd strongly recommend this company to others.

Great selection of wines despite this being the smallest Majestic in Edinburgh. City centre location but benefits from a small car park thanks to its former life as a garage (designed by renowned architect Sir Basil Spence).Friendly and helpful staff and if you're not driving there's the opportunity to sample some of the wines.

It's gone from bad to worse. Rude English staff who only fall over themselves to find a set of manners if you spend over £100 or something. They have stopped doing practical carrier bags altogether and don't even wrap a bottle for you any longer. However this would be an inconvenience if you didn’t know they expect you to come with bags . Where as you can order from somewhere else on line without the hassle . Limited stock most of it over pricedPrice wise they are not at all competitive , in fact you'll get better deals and value down a super market. The younger staff member today went on about his impending wine exams as if he was about to be called up to join a top rock band. However it appears this troubled company seems to install arrogance and snobbery in it's recruits over basic manners for all and customer service. The guy through my bag on the dirty floor when I was still in the process of packing what I bought the old facicious type on the till just threw the receipt on the ground. As recent history attests this place was near closure a few years ago it appears that hasn't;t taught them to up there game or secure the goodwill. of long term clients. After todays rude treatment I'll not even spend a penny here again and source better deals online as I don't have to pay to get treated in a bad manner. Issues of snobbery and racism permittee through out the microw brewed aggression . Unless your well off and a certain demographic your not welcome .

I dont know if I am the exception or maybe its because I look too young to appreciate wines, but the staff I dealt with was very unhelpful. I asked about a few wines and some of the ones I have liked in the past, and the staff member just pointed me in the direction of the entire red section and proceeded to go to the counter and get on his phone. However, the selection of wines is huge and the prices are really good!
