Bingley Five Rise Locks

A wonderful place for a gongoozla. I am not good with heights nor with water, so you would think this is not the place for me, but it is incredible. There is a cafe at the top and a water point for the boaters. At the top there is a swing bridge to be operated before you can access the rise. CRT were on hand to open the bridge and then help a boater through. The water really shoots out under some pressure as the photo hopefully shows. It was a pretty dull wintry day, but the experience is excellent. A little further down is the Bingley 3 staircase locks which we will visit on our next time.

Lovely relaxing afternoon out .you can walk miles either way if you want very scenic I've been several times the cafe is wonderful highly recommend

Bingley 5 locks is amazing place to see the Lock Keepers manually operating the locks for the Barges to come and the water goes up or down. The locks have been there since 1748. The Cafe there sells beautiful food. On a sunny its lovely to sit i outside.

Lovely walk along the canal and the locks are awesome. Shame they were closed for maintenance but impressive all the same. The dog friendly cafe was a bonus too. Not much parking near the locks but just up the road there is plenty of. Have a stroll into Bingley while you are there.

Beautiful on a Summers day, reccomend to anyone. Nice cafe, good place for walk and a picnic

A sight well worth seeing with a good cafe at the top and only a short walk to another 3 locks. Liked it so much we stayed for over an hour to watch a boat go up.

Great experience, but do wear waterproofs when steering your boat down the locks. CRT staff great help.

Nice part of the world, good cafe nearby

Nice little place to stop for a walk and watch the canal boats make their way through the locks. Fascinating to think how old they are. There's a little cafe here too, but was closed when we visited.
