Waveney River Centre

Lovely site very nice people and helpful nothing too much trouble. Good selection of Lodges to suit everyones needs. Surrounded by trees, marshes and marina near by.Very peaceful place to chill and relax. Swimming pool bookings taken which is brillaint as not too many if any in at one time. Would recommend, not the widest of roads to get too the site, cannot blame the site for this they cannot alter the road.

The Lodge we booked, we understood to be new, wasn't and wasn't prepared to be occupied, garden overgrown, couple of cleaning issues, back view so glad they offered to transfer us to a front lodge, which was so much better location.The Lodge was three bedrooms with large kitchen, dinner and seating area.The bedroom were more caravan size, only little room between bed and wall but were finished nicely.What made it was the view over the marsh, we saw cows, deers, cranes, swans and bird of pray, worth while taking binoculars.There is a small shop which sells a few essentials, would plan and take all you need as the road in and out is single track.There is a bar and restaurant, the food was pub food but presented and tasted very nice. They sell all normal drinks but understandable no real ales through the pumps, just not selling sufficient so have bottles instead.There is a small marina to walk around.For a relaxing break, I would recommend but try and get a front lodge.

Just popped to the Waveney River Centre for lunch and we were not disappointed. Friendly welcome, prompt service from the bar staff, George and Seb, and a huge plate full of scrummy fish and chips with mushy peas. Very pleasant surroundings and just what we needed on a rainy day. We didn't stay overnight so can't comment on the accommodation but the pub was good and we will be back.

Lovely people all very helpful especially Andrew, nothing too much trouble for any of them. Accommodation good, different ones for individual needs. Swimming pool well managed and booking times makes it easier to make sure not to crowded. Marina nice all very good.

We went off peak season. Lovely location, left feeling completely relaxed.Friendly staff, limited menu but good quality and extremely well cooked.

My fianceé (wife now :) and I spent a weekend there. It was so nice and relaxing. The food was top quality and the staff were helpful and friendly. The entire atmosphere was pleasant and we really enjoyed ourselves. The building we stayed in was impeccably clean and tidy. Where we stayed had everything that we needed from cutlery to pots and pans even some games and a puzzle. The hot tub was always hot and the water in the shower was powerful. The view from our back porch in the hot tub was really amazing. We could see the stars at night and the meadow grass blowing back and forth from the wind during the day. I really had a great experience there. During the day we had delicious food from the restaurant and at night I was able to have a nice chat at the bar with some local chaps that asked me all types of questions about America and supplied all kinds of lore about England.

Gone down a lot since taken over. Lack of attention to detail. Whole place feels unloved now. Seems customers no longer matter to management, although staff helpful.Will not be rushing to return unless future reviews recommend. A real shame as have had some lovely weekends here in the past.

After a recent visit I was a bit disappointed.The restaurant food was poor quality it and lacked atmosphere.Staff were polite enough but I feel this place is a bit dead and could be made a lot better.It has potential to be a great location to visit, maybe with some better food and live music. But I don’t think I’ll be back in a hurry.

The marina is private for boat sales now ,So hire craft can only moor if you want a pump out or fuel ,also no water available,shame as we wanted to stop at the pub for a meal ,all eight of us ,oh well ,we won’t be going there again their loss,
