Churchill Gardens
A lovely little oasis in the middle of the busyness of the town. A lovely area to sit and contemplate and for wedding photos. My parents had their wedding photos taken here way back in the 1980s. Who knew this was once a former brickworks sandpit and was part of the redevelopment of Victoria Avenue in the 1960s. The gardens were named Churchill Gardens to commemorate Sir Winston Churchill who died in 1965. There was once a bust of him in the gardens believed to now be in the council offices.

Beautifully secluded undulating path through the park, with rich variety of planting and a stream tracing the pathway...Lovely gardens to visit throughout the year.

A true pearl of Southend. Gardens set up in a gorge, with tiny stream feeding a waterlily pond. Fantastic design, great choice of plants and surprisingly quiet for where it's located. Great place for quiet meditation or intimate chat with friends.

One of my favourite places in the Southend area. An amazing space near the heart of the town, but a different world! Glorious...

It looks small from the inside but when u walk further you realise there’s basically a whole forest with stairs leading downstairs to a secret pond inside. I loved this place.

I happened upon this by accident and what a delightful path off the beaten track. Lots of flowers, trees, wildlife and s stream with little water features. A stunning walk through and so tranquil.

Churchill Gardens
Beautiful gardens, often used for wedding photo shoots. A great place to walk the dog or just sit and relax. Very tranquil and quiet despite being metres from the very busy road Victoria Avenue. Would definitely recommend

An amazing place to visit where you are just off a busy road but could be in the middle of the Lake district.A wonderful place to take the children, pick nick or just spend some self time in meditation. If you love training there are lots of up hill or step runs you can do. Or can you ?An all round great place to spend some time with the family or in self reflection.Mz a
