Superb old style department shop, just like Grace Bros. Great customer centric service from a well established local team where true service counts. The No.10 cafe is amazing with a lovely chef and servers who go the extra mile to please customers! Nicely decorated for Christmas too...

Absolutely appalling attitude in the cafe from one woman. Table service was stated, which we had to wait for, and she refused to let us know what cakes were on the bar until we went over. When our order was taken the dirty table from the people before us was not cleared or cleaned. After the woman put the order down she cleared the table but didnt clean it. The table next to us had to ask twice for theirs to be cleaned as well.The flat whites were appalling. All froth - are they from a machine? I've had better on the motorway. The hot chocolate was tepid. The latte was about on a par with Costa. The lack of quality, or care for the customer, is shocking.This individual is making a horrid working and visitor environment for everyone. Her sour face, audible sighs and irritation with everyone lets this cafe down. Thank you to the chap who brought our food who was pleasant and nice!It's such a shame as its a lovely space and the sandwiches and cakes are good. Bakers and Larners - as a visitor to Holt I make a special trip to visit you, but I'll stop bothering if this is the face of your customer service and spend my money elsewhere.

This is a quality store that has been there many years. Very upmarket. Not for those budgeting. A fantastic cheese counter, plus chocolates, wines, men/ladies clothing, plus much, much more, including Aga ovens! Go on, spoil yourself!

No different from previous visits, a shopping paradise? You get that smell of luxury, perfection, a quality of service to behold all with the sent of Christmas?Glorious shopping experience?

A unique family vibe department store. Great to see in the current High Street economic climate. Worth a visit for that unique gift. Good coffee and food as well

Hosted a lovely evening with the wine team at Bakers & Larners on Friday evening, Andrew the chef is a real fined - matched each course with Bollinger which worked really well, excellent evening and well worth looking out for these special events -

It's a lovely store with great products and we were able to spend about £400 while there. Customer service was poor on our visit. One of the purchases was a pair of shoes, but no interaction with the lad that served us other than him giving us the shoes. Didnt come over to ask how they fitted etc.Brought various items.s in other department. Used the cafe which was short staffed and service took a while, but the staff were very pleasant. On the way out we noticed an item in the window, went back and was told that it was the last one left. The staff wouldn't remove the item from the window. So another example of the lack of service. I do get that there are H &S issues, but retail isn't as easy as it used to be and going the extra mile builds customer loyalty.. when times get hard you may need it to survive!! Sadly over all a disappointing visit to a lovely store.

I think this place is best described as Holt's answer to Selfridges! There are separate departments for men's/women's fashion, cosmetics, toys/games, food, household, etc. As best I could make out, it's spread through several adjoining buildings and on two floors so there's plenty to explore. We'll worth a visit.

First time I'd looked round the store properly. Gosh! It was full of beautiful goods and clothing. It has a café and toilets too which is a bonus. All the staff were very helpful and polite. I'll be back.

Had the cake a d drink offer. Tea lovely...however not quite a full two cups int the pot for two. The brownie was a little dry.
