Perfect location for everything in the city centre, with direct access into Eldon Square and Fenwick's. Could really do with modernisation though, it's really starting to show its age.It's not great for people with pushchairs or wheelchair users either as due to the age of the station it was only designed with 1 lift to cover all 4 platforms, so it can sometimes mean there is a little bit of a wait to fit in when the station is busy.Very handy having a Sainsbury's there to call into on the way home from work for a few essentials.Shame there is no longer a travel centre or information desk in what for many is the main station on the network.

Monument station is a Newcastle Upon Tyne city centre just a minute walk for shopping clothing and Eldon square where many brands under one roof.

Very spacious metro station and links to various parts of Newcastle and beyond.

While it serves its purpose as a metro station I cannot help but feel as if the interior needs to be updated severely. The air flow and hear during the summer months is almost unbearable to deal with, and being a central station crowd flow isn't always managed well especially on match days.
