Having a gearbox repaired is never a pleasant, or cheap experience, but auto trans did their best to ease the pain. Very good service, extremely knowledgeable and friendly and reasonably priced. Many thanks to Sophia and the team.

I didn’t think to much of this company, as a product of this I cancelled my diagnostic which was booked in with them. I had just purchased a car which has some issues with the auto gear box. Rang up to made an appointment and asked if they had heard of the issue before, very stand off ish. Got passed to a guy who said sounds like front dif has gone “your talking over a grand” read the other reviews and decided to cancel off the back there had been a couple bad reviews recently. Can’t say how they are when they have your car as I just didn’t get good vibe from this company.Manual swap taking place as we speak.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I used this garage only because they allegedly are the only auto gear box specialist in glouc…. I had to wait over 2 weeks to even take my car in in the first place.. not off to a good start. The women I spoke to when I booked was pretty abrupt and rude, but I didn’t think much of it at the time.When the day came to take my car in I did. The man in reception wasn’t particularly friendly at the time, but again I didn’t think much of it.My car was only booked in my a diagnostic (a few other garages had told me that my auto gearbox was having serious problems but weren’t equipped to deal with the problems) so I called at lunch when I hadn’t heard anything. I was told after plugging it in they had found nothing wrong, and after lunch he would test drive it. At 4 I had still heard nothing so I called. A receptionist working from home told me she couldn’t tell me because she couldn’t get hold of the ‘technicians’ also, which was concerning.I eventually managed to speak to a mechanic, who told me my car is fine and drives perfectly, and nothing was wrong ( I’ll stress 2 other garages have told me my gearbox was gone) they somehow used 1/4 tank of fuel on this test drive, and charged me £90 for the pleasure…. To not diagnose my car. Anyway, I took it somewhere else further away the next day and they called me within an hour, told me what was wrong and how they were going to fix it. Unless you like getting mugged off, stay as far away as possible

I have used this company quite a few times. And as a taxi driver I find They are very competitively priced. Have a good turnaround time on there work all the staff are polite and the mechanics appear to work in a good clean environment. I also got a great after care service on reconditioned gearbox they do what they say. And that’s why it’s 5 BIG STARS from me.Thanks team I will use your service again.

I paid £90 for diagnostics. They didn't tell me anything more than what I already know.The quote was too high that I wanted a second opinion.I get the impression that they get enough people walking in that they can afford to alienate a few customers.I wish this was a better experience.

We were recommended to this garage by our regular garage due to the nature of work required.The Lady on the telephone and chap in reception were both very helpful and friendly.Took car in for diagnostics and Auto Trans phoned back to confirm problem and cost to fix. Helpfully, they kept my car until the work was completed, which saved me a 60-mile round trip to collect it.2 days later car was all fixed, slightly more expensive than first estimated due to needing a different part than quoted but thats just one of those things!Overall I received great service and clear communication throughout. Bad experience. I went to have a brake/tyre check at another garage who said i had an oil leak, they dont do engines just tyres etc and suggested Auto Trans to me. I went to see them, they could have easily told me on the spot what was wrong and if they could repair, they refused to and said I had to book in and pay, fair enough even though the other garage told me about leak for free. I had to wait for a week before they could see me. They had my car from 8am until about 1pm. I had to organize lifts there and back. They charged me £90 to tell me what I already knew from other garage and didnt do the repair saying they were too busy! Short staffed. It was also cruelly said to me that they only repair automatic gearbox? Yet they knew it was from engine as other garage told me and I told them this! An extremely poor service and I feel totally cheated of my money. Their mechanic who looked at my car met me in the street as i was sobbing crying about to drive away, he confirmed what tyre fitters said and that the leak is pumping out oil! I said so im left to drive an unsafe car by you! I ask the readers is this because I am a recently widowed woman? Or do they cheat everyone like this? I went to another garage nearby who said they will do the repair and give me a price. I would not recommend this garage if you are a lone female, or need urgent help as Ive been badly treated and let down, left to drive with a dangerous oil leak they didnt even offer to do a temp repair until I could get it made safe. Their treatment of me is disgusting leaving me sobbing and scared. They dont even deserve the 1 star this review requires to be posted.

Thanks for your help, it was good to get a diagnosis of the Jaguar XJ fault codes, tied up with the fault code history perfectly. My new battery performing well, excellent service, attention to detail and advice.
