Love my RP saddle for my mare. Fits her perfectly and the panels and discs allow for changes in shape and muscle tone. Great service from Dean and Gini whenever I need help and advice. Recently bought a girth as well which didn't work out but they took it back at my next visit and refunded it without any issues.

Please avoid using this company. They owe me £1495 after selling me an incorrectly fitted saddle I asked for a refund after it causing significant harm to my mare. Gini agreed that I return the saddle to gain a full refund. Delivery was made via parcel force with photographic evidence 13th September & refund was due to made that day and I’ve been ignored since.

Gini and Dean provide excellent service, their knowledge and passion for the job they do is second to none. I have 3 horses , 17ys, 6ys and a 5yr, and I wouldn't change my saddles for anything else. Regular checks are a must to keep up with muscle development I hadn't realised just how quickly they change until I met them, I had always left checks for 6 months or a year. I now know better and my horses improvements are consistent, thankyou Gini and Dean, I am eternally grateful.

Thought I was after the impossible, finding a saddle to fit my very wide cob but also something to allow for my very short legs. Ginny and Dean were completely unfazed. Saddle Exchange are leaders in saddle fitting and design.Having used them for over 11 years, I wouldn’t use anyone else.They fit my four Friesian’s and offer excellent customer service. It’s important for clients who are new to their saddles to understand the general principles of fitting a good fitting saddle.When a horse has been wearing a poorly fitted saddle, they encounter muscle wastage. Some of which is clearly visible to the eye. Some is not. I’ll fitting saddles also cause wastage and over development on other areas of the horse. This is the horse compensating, uses its body incorrectly, to avoid the discomfort.The horse is incredible and many would never show any changes in behaviour, or way of going. And unfortunately some riders wouldn’t be able to notice a change in the horses way of going. Good or bad.When a horse has one of the Saddle Exchange saddles fitted. It goes through a process. Because the saddle fits, the horses starts to be able to use its body correctly, as they are no longer avoiding pain. As a result, they build muscle in the correct places, including the back and wither area.New muscle growth creates soreness. Think of going to the gym and using muscles you’ve not used before. They are sore from becoming activated. The horse is no different.As the muscle develops, the horse changes shape and requires the saddle to be adjusted. Sometimes with flock, sometimes adjusting the tree. Because the saddles are built on English Wooden trees, they are fully adjustable. Not just opening and closing the front, ignoring the channel running along the spine - like gullet systems do.As the horse continues its adaption, improving it their way of going, building muscle and changing shape. It’s highly important to work with Dean & Gini so that all the needed adjustments to the saddle can be made.It’s also highly important that you understand this development process because it’s highly likely your horse will be sore (not all horses) which means that input/feedback from physio’s/Bodyworker’s etc are NOT and indication of the saddle not fitting. Many therapists haven’t studied saddle fitting, are not experts in the area and some have basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Let’s remember anyone can call the self a therapist and you can qualify online!If your therapist has concerns. Connect them with Dean & Gini and work together as a team.Another important factor, as mentioned, is that the saddle will need regular fits. No matter how much it costs, whether it was custom made or not. Every saddle needs checking at a minimum of 6month intervals. Ideally 3 months. When it’s a new saddle and the horses has had previous issues, this may be monthly.I highly recommend Dean and Gini and wouldn’t let anyone else fit my horses, ever.Thank you for all you do.
