We camped here at the start and end of our Hadrian's wall cycle trip. Lovely flat, quiet site.Toilets and showers in a log cabin which also had a space to sit in case it rained and a kettle that could be used. Really friendly campsite owner too

1 night camping, couldn't have asked for better location. Host 'Paul' very helpful and attentive. Gave us great advice, booked us in to pub for meal. Mentioned the wetherspoons in Carlisle for breakfast next to train station with safe and secure parking for our bikes, great shout. This man knows his stuff. I'll be back!!!!

Stayed for 2 nights as a stop off point for our motorbiking trip to The Hardknott Pass and Keilder Forest. Have not got a bad word to say. The camping pod was warm, comfortable and quiet. Shower facilities excellent. Paul was on hand to answer any questions and advise on local places to eat The Drovers Pub" is a must. Cooked breakfast early for us on our leaving morning. Then when I had a puncture

I stayed at Roman Wall Lodges Campsite on the first night of my Hadrian's Wall hike. The site is located on the wall. Paul took me to the library and explained the location, history, excavations and equally importantly how good the Drovers Inn was which is two mins away. Just one word. Outstanding. Thankyou a great start to my brilliant trek from Bowness On Solway to Wallsend..SPQR!

Immaculately kept campsite just half a mile from the Hadrian's Wall Path, and even closer to a really nice pub selling absolutely delicious food. The owners are friendly and very helpful - not just with your stay here, but for other parts of the walk and other nearby attractions and amenities. The place looks brand new, but they've been established for about 15 years, apparently; clearly, they spend a lot of time keeping everything in top-notch condition. The showers and toilets are inside a wooden lodge - nothing like the usual damp freezing toilet blocks we're so used to at other sites, and there's a drying room, tea and coffee making facilities and a small store, as well as an indoor dining area, comfy armchair and even a library. If you don't fancy cooking, though, or just fancy an indulgent treat, just a short stroll down the lane is The Drover's Rest, a great pub selling craft beers, lagers and ciders with an impressive menu. The food is delicious, and the portions go beyond generous.Just 4 miles from Carlisle, it's a perfect site for exploring the area, as well as for wall walkers.
